Has anyone tried this combo as a PVE soloist (animals only). I am considering not mastering doctor but rather just enough to get some enhancement ability. With the melee mitigation I would think this would make a huge difference.

Comments?

With Master Swordsman, master brawler and 0340 doc you are going to be a good PvE soloist.. And very decent in PvP also. imo...

I was a good PvE soloist with TKM, master brawler doc0340, but have later tried swordsman, and swordsman is better for PvE (because of the bleeds and medium armor piercing weapons)

So yes, you will be good and yes I do belive it will be fun

I'm a master doc/master swordsman. After buffs I can solo 6-8 tuskans easily and with a little mind food or spice I can solo DT at lake retreat with almost no worries. I'm really dreading dropping it next month to work on AS tho...

I was a human, almost Master Swordsman/Doc 0/2/4/0, I play almost exclusively PvE, and I ended up bailing on Doc. But now Im beginning to think I might have blown it. I bailed so I would have points free to pursue the ultimate fighting machine. I mastered Brawler and have a couple of TK lines and plan on doing fencer defense lines. I thought I would want the extra fighting abilities and could always get buffs. Also, I was pretty dissatisfied with med use 90 buff D's that a 0/2/4/0 Doc can do. Sometimes Id get a buff of 1500 which was great. But I got a lot of 700's too, and not because I had bf or not because my droid wasn't charged or anything like that.

After mastering swordsman, I dont even use the master brawler stuff that much and finding Docs to buff me is a pain. My TK stuff I don't ever use and aside from the stacking defenses, I'm not sure how helpful it is. So I'm back to wondering about Doc again and thinking I might have made a big mistake.

Two additional thoughts. I have since seen some med use 90 buff packs that were hugely better than the ones I used. Base in the mid to high 800's and better durations than the ones I used when I did it. I wonder if I didn't just have some pretty cruddy packs. Second, master swordsman, alone, is amazing. I can't believe how powerful it is. Im beginning to think the trade off of the bonus defensive skills vs. being able to buff myself and the increase in healing power isn't worth it. I'll play with it for a while, but I'm sure wondering about it.

Lol, yeah...
ok so I was sword 0-4-4-4 and master doc. Loved it, the self buffs are sweet, you can heal everything except battle fatigue. I used it ot leve pike actually, but have bled a few post patch krayts too. The heal dizzy is awesome against the giant kryats, you can buff and quick heal everyone in your party, and area attack 3 in sword is very strong with a power hammer, though I haven't used that move in 3 weeks... /cry. have fun!

Yeah your 90 use enhance paks should be at least 770. When I first was medical professor I used some bad paks too. But if you can get the base around or over 800, you are not that far off the buffing power of master doc. But I think you need master surgeon too, to rival the master docs.

Yeah, but he is a 0-2-4-0. The 2 limits how strong is buffs are. Even if he goes 0440, that is still only 75% the strength of a master doctor. (they get +25, butthis could be offset with bio-cloth)

Also, some believe that self-buffing is weaker than getting a buff from an equal level doctor. (i've seen this, and several others have, but not everyone agrees on the doctor forums)

Yeah so when I was 0-4-4-0 doc, there was so much overlap in the strength of the buffs with my +25 wound treatment robe that it didn't matter that they weren't the strongest possible. Also, the only thing I ever needed buffed over 1.3k or so was health and action just to make sure you are not one hitted by something that gets around the armor. With armor that is right for the situation, he should be fine if every buff isn't 2.5k or higher.

Master doc/master swordsman is a tried and true template. You definately won't be a PvP god or anything, but all the utility you gain from doctor is invaluable.

I am a Master Doctor and 3/3/2/2 swordsman working to master. I have used stat migration to lower every stat to its min value in health and action. I have taken the points and put them all into mind. i have 1000 mind, willpower and focus. when i go out for the day to fight i buff myself, take muon gold and food for mind (dont remember how to spell them all) brown bread, glucose something and algerish fish something... anyway i am drifting from my point. I have fought ancient grauls, force npc's and mobs of every creature on dantooine. i have been incapped or killed a handfull of times, usually if I get dizzy and cant stand or apply medicine. It doesnt happen ofter enough for me to worry about. This combo is also excellent for pvp. I have lost to a TKA master and a Rifleman master. If a tka gets you on the ground you are done.. and with the rifleman.. muon and 1000 mind will only keep you standing for about 10 seconds.. or 3 mindshots. all in all i will miss the combo when i move on to my next holocron profs.

great combo, especially if you a master doctor going to grind out 2h swordsman, all you need to do is keep yourself buffed which is half the battle in lvling.

you forget burst run. many ppl forget that if your dueling a rifleman you can burst run straight at them, bleed them and have fun with warcry and head hits because at 50m there accuracy is terrible. just make sure you have some comp not just your PvE ubese.
