Hi,

Need some advice from you experienced swordsman.

I used to be melee and loved it, recentlyI /re-spec to MBH and Rifles, butI found thatI definately prefer melee to ranged, so im /re-spec again back to swordsman, but will make a good template?

Im currently MS / TKM / Doc 4000 and loving every second of it

its a truly amazing template, and a god of a tank

there are several good temps, depending on your play style.

swords/TKM with some doc is pretty solid. some fencer skills thrown in help in PvP.

I went for master swords and master pikeman with some doc.

what u swordsman think of that template?

TKM is fun. no armor required. powerboost, CoB, and meditate. add doc and you are golden

- Master sword

- Doc 4xx4 or 4xxx (For pvp, and in some cases pve u cant make it without the 4xxx (if u dont have a cm/doc as your best friend), only stims isnt enough

- Tk x3xx (Improved CoB+ knockdown)

- Fencer x444 or x4x4, (great defense/melee accuracy, snare, and slow down action regen) and if u choise x444 fencer u also get a very good hit in bodyhit.

both are great, if u dont have a buffer with u most of the time I would suggest 4xx4 doc (u can buff yourself and u can give yourself the adrenalboost all the time).

TKM MSwords doc 4xxx is probably the best tanking/PvE combination but fencer x4x4 is agood idea if youfrequently PvP

Your choice depends on if you Pve or Pvp, also what type of roll you want to play (if you have a group with buffers/healing you can place your focus elsewhere)

I USED TO take Defense Stacker 2....do you?

I was considering respecing an alt to Master Swordsman/Master Doctor/0400 Pikeman. Anyone have any thoughts or experience on this template? Btw, I was a pre CU swordsman, and LOVED it... best profession ever and most fun I have had in game. Kinda wanting to get back into it again, all my combat characters are Bounty Hunters now.

The problem with pikeman and swords is that you have to buy an extra brawler tree to get pike. That eats up your skillpoints and prevents any swords/pike template from getting cl80 (unless you master pike as well).

I don't PVP, only PVe, and have Master Swords/Ranger 4444 (out of skill points for master, used them on force melee skills). Works good for me in large groups. I can still deal tons of damage, and get a lot of xp for 2 handed, and scouting from all the harvesting I can do. Plus you can make killer camps, and also get lots of trapping xp on hunting groups. Bottom line is that when I convert XP, I have a lot to convert at one time. Only down side is that I'm stuck at CL77, but I could fix that by dropping a force skill, but that would kinda defeat my goals I think.

Pre CU, Master Swords/Master Doc was untouchable. But I had to respec several times after, as that combo was much weaker after the CU.
