Just curious if someone could tell me exactly what i needed to have a good quality Scythe made.

there is a FAQ up top regarding the Scythe. That was all the info I needed to get started. Basically you want a bunch of matching yellow cubes and agents. the larger the groups the better and if above average, even better. It doesn't take much above average to make 420+ damage scythes if you get a good slice.
Read the FAQ at the top of the page. It should give you a fairly good understanding. Check the one in the weaponsmith forum as well. Between the two of them, you'll be a scythe scholar.
