Thread: Looting exceptional items... NPC quality or quantity?

I've been wanting to get my hands on an exceptional item, and was wondering.

Should I beat up tougher NPCs, like NS spell weavers, protectors, and such?

Or should I beat up tons of the weaker ones, like rangers, outcasts, and stalkers?

I wasn't sure on that, and was hoping someone would answer.

I know that other things, like kimogilas and krayts drop exceptionals, too, but I don't hear many saying they've gotten one from those.

you should pray to god and ask for his blessing, become a loot whore and make tons of money, then buy an exceptional weapon if you want to loot one i think you should wait, NS elders are borked adn dont seem to be dropping much of anything at the moment.

I would say quantity. The two exceptional weapons that I have looted were off easier targets, one ranger and one rancor. If the odds are 1 in a million, go out and kill a million.

Ide try killing the lower level stuff for a while, Ive personaly had more luck with them. I looted some decent stuff from rangers in the past little bit, and strangely got some decent stuff from the rouge corsec base lastnight (trying to get my corsec faction up). A +4 2h acuracy gloves and +3 carbine acc boots. Not bad for being there for like 10 ,mins.

I'd say the chances from here on out are nil ever since the Loot Gestapo had their mits in the code, broke it, and now have been forced to acknowledge that they were nerfing the drops all along - they just screwed the implementation the first time out.

both. kill lots and lots of high level npc creatures. the chances are better for a drop. I guess you could try the mauler's etc for that one in a million drop if ya want.
