Yeah so I tried the Acklay for the first time last night. Ran out of mind buffs before the fight started...Either way, I'm Master Rifles & Swords and I still got owned. How do you guys take him down? I didn't even seem to be denting him.

Got him a couple of days back solo for the first time. Looked tough at the beginning with the those fire ball throwing things (forgot the name) aggroing but took them out first keeping Ack intimidated. Then a couple of spiders popped and stole aggro from him and then it was shared aggro with them and very easy. Got lucky i think but soon ran out when that schematic junk dropped
Edit: Temp is 0440 Doc, Ms and some merchant

First, I warcry the Acklay, and clear everything else in the room.
Then I stick intim on the Acklay and beat away on his mind, warcrying when I need to heal.
Thats it
M.Swordsman/M.Brawler/Fencer (2440)/TKA (4004)/Medic (2200)
Speed Capped
80% Armor
Mind Buffs
Body Buffs
Brandy

After the keycard door, i just run all the way to the end, only stopping to enter in the passcodes at the other doors. Then, I spam spin2 until all the mobs that followed me are dead. Then, I kill all the mobs in the acklays room, and settle in to wait. When he spawns, I just kill him, ignore the other mobs, pausing every once in a while to heal myself.
All you need is good armor, and you should be fine.

Mind buffs aren't neccessary to solo the acklay. Helpful though.
Good kinetic comp. A vercupti is handy. Keep him intimidated as you beat the klikniks down. Then wail away on his head. If you're not speed capped stick to a scythe. If your speed capped, go for the biggest hammer you can swing. For me, the kliks are always the hardest things to take during the fight since they stay out at range for the most part.

i go into the room kill everything else first and then focus on acklay. acklay doesn't do that much damage it is the other creatures that are attacking you that is the problem. if the enhanced spiders stay on you with the fire ball it hits really hard. and they normally dont like to stop that attack even though you are smashing them on the side of there head with a power hammer. but after they are gone i take out acklay without a problem. and mind buffs are always nice to have but aren't nessisary. just double up your brandy and take food that gives you 400 focus for 40 minutes(forgot what it is called) and if you have over 1.5k focus after the 2 brandies and 3 mind food you should be fine. and you should have over 1.5k focus after that since that is an enchacer of 2k to you focus like that.
also my temp atm is Master Sword/Brawler, tka 4004, Force tree for speed up to the 3rd branch in it, and medic 0040 with 15 skill points left over.

If you're a human, I find going 400/400/1000 (with 1k/1k/1k on mind, focus, and willpower) is preferable.
Also, as a rifleman, you should be using a DXR-6b instead of a T21.

And if you are Zabrak, don't forget you have the equalize abiltiy, it's acually called Equilibrium in game. You'd be suprised how often it can save you in PVE and PVP, and how under utalized it is.

I never go with the minimum on the health and action because theres those times that you run unbuffed and get one shotted by npcs and there you are incapped by some weak mob. I go for 500/500/1000- 100 points does make a difference and the secondary mind stats are easily taken care of with buffs, brandy, and canape. Just need to learn how to time it right and you're set.
