Hiya all,

i created this thread to discuss with you our next steps.

As promised i've been trying with the little possibilities i have to get more info about the current state of the program and our last set of issues. It took a long while but eventually i got these answers from Blair and Xahn:

Sorry for the delay.

I know it seems like we are giving certain professions more attention than others. I understand that can be the perception, but it is not the case internally. We have *thouroughly* reviewed every issue sent in by the group. The information is getting to us.

Don't lose faith, we are working on all your concerns.

Blair

Right now we're still working on getting those first issues worked out. Also, I wanted to let you know that we're setting up characters on test center so you can try out the changes we make for you. If you are interested in this, please make a character on test center and email me his name.

I know....it's not much and i guess it isn't also clearly answering my question if for now we should continue sending our issues in or wait for the next set of answers.

I would also like to thank you forthe great patience you have shown so far but at the same time i also wanted to see and hear your opinion about how we should go on from here and how do you feel about all this.....so please post and comment.

My personal opinion:

I would continue waiting for their answers as i think it wouldn't make too much sense to send anything in as long as we didn't get those answers.

Alot of things that have been discussed here in the past days were things like "How does this or that work....?" and usually you would either find contradicting posts or posts ending something like "....if this how it is supposed to work"......i really really hope that we will get some more details in our next set of answers about those different issues and as it has been mentioned in a post it would also be great to get more info in-game about the various attack and defense abilities through on screen messages, because one thing is sure: with all the testing you guys have done on those issues we would figure out pretty fast what is working the way it is intended and what not.

There has also been alot of input regarding the empty finesse box and ideas about how the tree, its specials and their effect and the weapon certifications could be structured or changed. That is certainly something we should submit if the next set of answers doesn't bring any changes in that regard.

But for now, i thought about sending them a mail only mentioning/adding the Malkloc issue, where it is almost not possible to hit the creature because the point determing the distance to it seems to be right in the middle and as it is a huge creature some of you have been reporting not being able to hit it because being out of range.

I think this is a clear technical ,hindering bug and when sending it in i would of course clearly state that we have more issues but that in order to give them some space and things not to pile up we only submitted this one issues.

I don't know how much you guys are reading the different boards in general but in the past couple of weeks the Devs had it come from everywhere, also in a more heated way than in the first weeks i think and it seems to me that they might be working by stricter priorities now....and for now the correspondent program, or at least the communication part of it, doesn't seem to be one of the top top priorities....which is comprehensible somewhere i guess.

So please let me know what your thoughts are about this and how do you want to proceed from here:

Keep going sending full sets of issues in or wait for their answers ?

Thank you

Gorecki

I think we should wait it out until we get some feedback regarding the second email of issues which they need to look at. After that we can get a new letter sent, or what not depending on how the situation looks at that point in time.

In the mean time I think it's time for some hard facts from testing our various abilities instead of having some belive in one thing and others in another, aswell as testing various skill modifiers.

Also I noticed something while looking over our skill tree. There's a trend that follows throughout almost all threes in skills and that is in the First of the Four boxes you get a Special Attack, the Second we get skill modifiers, the third we get a special attack, and the fourth we get skill modifiers.

That is true for most but not Finess, Finess 1 and 2 is fine, 3 is empty and the 4th has a special attack. Seems to be there is missing +Two Handed Accuracy modifiers somewhere in there, in the fourth box, and in the third should be 2h mind hit 2.

Also this issue seems to be apparent in the Offence tree. We get a Special Attack in the first, a special attack in the second, skill modifiers in the third and special attack and toughness in the fourth. This just seems a bit messy to me.

Yes, lets give them time to figure things out. The daily hotfixes and updates are the manifestation of a busy dev team I think. Compared to other games this is a breath of fresh air.

Dunno Goreki ... your work and effor are both GREAT! But i don't like this Devs.

They haven't any idea of priority (cos the main PvP issue is the "Out of range" problem for the melee). Prolly they work to the simple fix cos are unable to fix the main issues (createdby a BAD CODING).

I'm full of hope but there is no sign of interest in our opinion. I want to see a week's answer here in this board, cos the time we are spending testing a NON FINISHED game (while paying) must have a FEEDBACK, every time we ask for an answer.

I dunno how the company like Sony works, but prolly is time to pretend some kind of feedback.

It's almost clear atm that only the players are able to DESIGN the game, for free of course. So we need answer regarding the issues not mail like the posted above.

Really disappointed ... but glad to see u, Goreki, as correspondent (i hope your work will be useful).

Best Regard

Currently i dont mind to much that they havent shown alot of interest in our issues. We arent exactly a broken class compared to alot of others(granted we have some problems, but nothing as severe as some).

I do digress however that there progress is somewhat slow. I played daoc from day 1 up untilabout 4 months ago. SOE has had much more experience then them in this field, yet mythic seemed to patch at least once a weak. Well, i guess i shouldnt be comparing since it doesnt prove much. But i figured a company like SOE would be much quicker in fixing these issues, some that have whiched plagued us since opening day. Not to mention although mythic did patch alot, it was usually creating more imbalance lol.
