Thread: Lag makes posture change useless with the old timer
Ive been testing this for quiet some time now and this is starting to get on my nerves......
Scenario:
BH challenges me to a duel i accept....he kites me........running up a mountain...using my awesome ranger'ness i catch up to him just in time to use Area3..He goes into kneel.I come in with an headhit3...his kneeling self is 30meters away because he was running when i hit him...i run after him....hes up before i can get to him..i need to wait 30 seconds.... +(
i have been unable to get on for about 3 weeks, except for one time, and the kd timer had been implemented, but my charge shot technique still did the trick for the whole two pvp encounters i came into. i wish i could have used it more, just to see how it would fair against a post patch commandoe, but whatever, at least i know i can school a bh.
p.s. this is totally random, a little sad, and kinda rude. but i have a favor to ask of you.
i have some friends i would like to say hi too, and reassure them that im coming back. if you could send tells saying sumthin like "apeist told me to tell you hi, and that he would be back" to: hemmit (or hemitt, cant remember), oosmo, chaos'e, vaskew, mackietay, and airk. those were my main friends, and were pretty mad at me when i told them i had to go. its coo if you dont, but if you would it would make all the difference.
Hey man..dont wry id be glad to send them a letter when i get on next
as for pvp swordsmen are fairly useful infact i will accept a duel from anyone because its all in due fun...ive taken on the best of the best even winning againsta master swords/doc Master TKA and Expert BH's. In Melee we always have a chance..this is the best time for posture change as since your opponenet isnt moving their shouldnt be any problems with their body moving back 20m...
when going against a ranged player you really need to have a strategy. If near buildings try getting into them..if your opponent is confined you can get them to circle and then cut through....If your in an open area and they attempt to kite you run away and wait........u can close some distance when they start running back...usually u can catch them off guard and get to them.
Since im a ranger i can also use hills to my advantage because although most people have explore4 i have the SLIGHT advantage of master ranger.
And yes i do love it..i like to take the bad proffesions and make the best of them.....( i picked ranger before they had any fixes ). and i found out swordsmen is a fairly strong class it just needs a little revamp
the battles though are all organized by twenty-to-life though and those are great because noone is going to kite me when they dont notice me sneaking up on them for the kill =)
oops, yea it is twenty-to-life (my mom must be using the "secret ingredient" in her cookies, as im fairly sure i havnt been smoking anything). hmmm i wonder what he is profession wise.
i think your a rebel (correct me if im wrong) because the times that i saw you were in ah if i remember correctly. yea i hardly ever turn down a duel too, but i usually never asked for some1 to duel me. you shoulda seen me one night in the cantina at ah, i dueled so many ppl, i couldnt beleive how many wanted to duel me. everyone wanted to see if they could beat me. that night i must have dueled at least 30 ppl, and the first duel i lost was against a pistoleer (remember this was pre kd patch) and that was like my 12th or so duel.
yep, good times. your right about the sneak-up-and-whack-em combat thing too. in the imp raids on ah i was almost never fired at, and i would corner ppl into the walls and corners (obviously) and it was all over. bye bye master bh, and have a good time.
yea i used a lot of your tactics such as using buildings and all, but most ppl would just camp outside with their 3 storm troopers and send tells to their friends (as i was usually very close to bestine). lol they probly coulda taken me with the 3 st's anyway.
but again that was all before i picked up carbineer.
i think rangers still need some more work... i heard that terrain negotiation after the first box in wayfaring only affected crawling, thats o stupid. a ranger should be able to catch up to any1, especially in the hills.
Twenty is a squadleader/carbineer
And yes im a rebel.....and i do ask people to duel me too hehe =) i try to get in asmuch practice as i can because i can only get better
