what are some of the things that drop legendary items?

Lots of stuff.. Easiest to find would be Nightsisters though, pretty much any of them... Stalkers, Rangers, Sentinels, Spellweavers, Protectors, Elders. There are Outcasts and Initiates too but they don't seem to drop much of any use in my experience. Good luck!

Not sure on anything else other then NS, but i know that the makkliehcie (sp?) mission they sometimes drop exceptional

krayt can actually drop them also and since rancs also drop weaps i would guess them also (will end with loot revamp though)

Force mob on Dantooine dropped a pretty sick legendary PH on Chimaera a while back.
