Thread: Friend looking to make an alt... Is swordsman ok as an only combat profession?

Hi there my friend is going to be making an alt soon when he gets his jedi and unlocks a second slot. He is determined however to either be master armorsmith or master weaponsmith. So what my question is....can he still be relatively effective when hunting against nightsisters and krayts and stuff? When hunting that, he will be hunting with my alt, who is a Rifleman/combat medic to support him tanking. I know he will have some tough time with speed, but other than that will he really be too weak? I am also aware that he will need 2000 medic at least to heal bleeds that elders give.
I know that many MDoc/MSwords solo NS all the time, so he will really only be missing the beefy heals (which i can do from range), and the healing of states (which i do not really think matters much).

Master Sowrdsman/Master Doctor is ultimate pve. Is this a pvp alt or a pve alt? Swordsman is the most fun in pve and iff you at least close to speed capped and have a good hammer or scythe you do very well. Nice to have something else with it though,those ns kding and dizzying gets very annoying....

PvE alt. He wants to make armor to sell and give to friends, but still be able to help me and others crystal hunt.
So swords alone is ok as long as he has KD/dizzy food?

Master swordsman alone is fine for PvE. Just need to leave the elders alone and make sure that you don't take on multiple protectors at once if thats your only combat profession and have no healing.

Ok, I will be backing him up with rifleman/combat medic against elders...should be ok right?

Swordsman works great as someones only combat prof.. I was Master Artisan. Master De, and Master Swords for 4 months and still was out running lvl 200+ missions and fighting nightsisters.

ok we are at a dillema... We are trying to decide whether 4040 medic would work better, or 2000 medic with 0040 fencer for dizzy defense.

also will my friend be gimp without any speed attachments? We are not very wealthy ( just bought lots of crystals) so we cant afford the attachments going for 10-30 million

due to the force sensative stuff i fight with 2xxx medic so you can get away with it but it gets hairy at times if you get a really bad heal.

Its a shame but creatures die vs high level mobs very quickly so using them as tanks is impossible however that would be a fun template to have as i enjoyed CH even as a post nurf CH made grinding Rifleman back then easier.
