Just wondering if anyone was using this sort of template.. currently I'm a Master CH/Master Rifleman, but to be honest I'm getting bored with sitting back and hitting one button continuously without any thought, and having to run into the 7m range to heal my pets. Was thinking of going Master Brawler/Master Swordsman/Master CH for the debuffs and so I could still have pets to tank for me when I'm not grouped with a medic char along with having them contribute damage and add control. My main interests lie in PvE.. any thoughts on this template? anyone using it?

Well as a Master Rifle/Master CH myself i should know soon. Since im dropping rifle for 2 hand sword. As a CH/Fencer i didnt like it to much. Because my tanks could take far more abuse then i could. Thats why i went rifle. To let them tank while i sat back and hit the target. But 2 hand does so much more damage then 1 hand. So it should be a lot different

I used to be the same. Master CH and Master Rifleman. It was great but boring. Now I am Brawler 3443 and Swordsman 0112. I love this combo much more than the previous. I am also Medic 0400. Diagnosticsallows you to heal quicker. I can but high quality stims in crates.

The best mind bleedI have done to date was 2900. I can also do mind hits for up to 2200. I can take down most things with this. I can't wait till I reach Master.

My friend is a Tk 0344 andI hit almost as fast as he does. When we hit lairs we go blow for blow.Once in a while he will get in an extra blow, but it's rare.

Hope this answers your question.

i am curently master ch, master brawler, and 0 4 3 3 swordsman, along with a little medic. It is a kick ass template, do master brawler, master swrodsman, and master ch. U won't regret it.

I am also a master heavy swordsman and master creature handler. This is the only template I have ever used. I am very happy with the progress and early on you will rely greatly on your pets. Now, I find that I seldom call any pets when I run missions and most of the time only call one just to have around.

Saying that, now that BE pets have appeared and you can pre-order a pair of pets with specific resists, armor and matching specials I may change my mind. I love both of my professions and think that it will be even better once I get my special order pets.

I've been a MCH-MSword for some time now, and even with the new line of creature nerfs I am doing real well. In fact, the nerf has made us even better tanks against PvE since the mobs can't really hit or resist as well as we do.

I pretty much always fight in a group of friends and lately I've been relegated to healing rather than combat- because they're still trying to master a profession or are working on a holo profession and I can take down mobs too fast for them to get XP. That should tell you something about the tanking power of the swordsman- the other folks in my group are BH hopeful, MTK, Fencer hopeful/Doctor, Pistoleer/MCM.

My current spec is : MCH, MSword, Medic 1240, Novice Entertainer (no one else could do it, and the CM needs mind heals). I have tested several point usages and the only different thing I would do is to drop Entertainer to get Medic 2340, which gives me more speed in healing and at least First Aid.

I wish we had the points to get more defense, like Master Brawler and perhaps some defensive line from another tree but it's tight with this spec. However, I like it fine.

Pets are being phased out of the game as far as I can see. Personally I don't use them, waste of time basically compared to what good armor and the sword can do.

DONT DROP RIFLEMAN!!!! swordsman/rifleman combo gives u amazing mind bleeds, so do not drop it. u snipe em, let em charge u, and slice off their head. U cant get jumped on cause u got the shortranged swordsman, and u can surprise people by sniping em from afar, and have them go "what th edit just happened??" Whatever u do, hold on to that rifle

If it wasnt there last time, what makes u think its there now?

OK , Im a master swordsman / master CH and the viability is almost up to the user... I use a double pet combo that can dizzy for me ( 2 bile - drenched quenkers) Get the opponent dizzy then I lower posture... It's a dizzy / kd all at the same time since the pets can use specials by command now. If you are a swordsman, you are up with the action so you want pets that can compliment your abilities... In the most recent patch... Pets as tanks are dumb... Pets as EXTRA SPECIALS that complement your own are the way to go..

BTW in duels with my quenkers and me I command them to dizzy and I lower posture at the same time. The other person falls down and becomes gimped.. We don't have a dizzy attack, so I pair myself up with a pet that does.

I'm gonna guess this is "in theory" because in practice the special move commands are bugged. they don't do anything but make the creature attack.

I'm an MCH and recently made master swordsman, don't let these guys fool you, a creature is still 10 times better at tanking than you are. if you want to fight the serious mobs, this is a great combo. get yourself a nice bio-pet for a tank. I got me a light armour 60% kinetic resist, 12k ham gurreck. now don't try to tell me that's not a good tank.

without my pets the toughest thing I've been able to solo was an ancient bull rancor. with my pets I've soloed singing mountian clan guardians. I'm talking post patch, they've got 80k ham, and use force knockdown and force lightning. maybe somebody here can do it without pets, but I haven't figured a way.

(if you're interested, the pets can't really tank against that kind of power, but they distract so I can get the heavy bleeds in. it involves a lot of running around and alternating pets, lots of stims, and often lots of swearing, but it can be done)

I agree with mjol, if you are giving up that rifle you need to lay off the muon... because now it is affecting your decision making. Rifle and sword should rock the party for the reasons mentioned by mjol.

Is there some sort of trick to keeping the mob on the pet? I seem totake aggro off them occasionally and can't get it off. I have been leveling rather quickly though.. by getting buffs and going petless. I'm still not sure, at least at this stage as to whether or not players are the better tanks.. there's still the armor hole, I know people are stacking swordsman with carbineer and using CoB to become supertanks, but I highly doubt that is something that won't be nerfed. So right now I'm leveling swordsman keeping CH, but I think once foods arechanged toadd more primary HAM stats that players are going to clearly be the better tanks... at least if you can scrounge up the buffs.

well i was mch mhs and 4202tka for a long time and it was great. but after awhile i started to use my creatures less and less in pve and it was starting to become a pain to use them.

so i droped mch after the last big patch and went m brawler MHS and Sniper for rifle. i am right now 0003 in rifle MB and MHS and i am loving it. i have been able to solo high end Nightsisters that were rangers, intents, or what ever they were called, and rancor tamers. the only ones that i can't solo are the protectors and the elders but every other sister is easy to solo.

i power boost with tkathenI go prone andwith rifle mind bleed them to lure one of them over. cob when they get like 40m away the lundge 2 warcry combo to keep them on the ground and start hiting them with 2hand hit 3 and this almost always works.

i have noticed that this is alot better way to solo things then i ever did with pets cuz instead of them bringing one mob to me they brought the whole group and would normally kill me and my pets
