Please go TK so when i have to fight you PvP I can kick your butt. Please tell me you can imagine that there could be more to all of PvP combat than one hit?

You want to know something? I'm a master swordsman, and have lunge 2, and I still hardly ever use it in PvP. And TKM's don't stand a chance against me. CoB + warcry + bleed = TKA death. They can't knock you down if they can't hit you.

The original question has an easy answer...

We don't need a Knockdown to be deadly. And if we do, we frequently can arrange to get one from elsewhere. For example, I know that at least two of us are playing Master Swordsman/Master Carbineer, and having no troubles at all. In fact, I think I may just be stronger than anything but a TKM who sneaks up on me because of the way that I play my character. The rest I'm flexible enough to put into a world of hurt. Tonight, for example, I easily wasted a TKM/Master Doctor - he might have been fast, but 2 mind bleeds and 2 action bleeds followed by a Warcry and a Center of Being pretty much destroyed his hopes of victory despite his buffs...

Even without another class to supplement you, the smart play for a Swordsman is to get in the first Warcry, then apply the Mind bleeds. Then you have several choices. You can run and hope that they don't catch up to you(I don't like this choice, but then I have a lot more options). You can stick in there and start landing head hits to hasten their demise. While their specials are disabled you can go with Berserk and flail away before they get the chance to get in the hits for increased damage. You can turn on Center of Being and pretty much become impossible to knock down and difficult to hit besides.

The critical key is the mind bleeds. If you can land those, it's just a matter of keeping from getting killed in the meantime and preventing your target from getting mind repairs from anywhere. The first is fairly easy if you play it smart and the second should be almost trivial in PvP...

Knockdown only seems important because it's the most obvious way for meleers to prevent ranged players from kiting them. In my book, the bleeds you bring to the battle are the most important thing, followed only at a slight remove from your ability to constantly inflict wounds. It doesn't matter if they can heal with a stimpack if they have 650 wounds on each bar...

...*ahem*

please refrain from using the caps. im sure i could have read it normally...

also... if you want a knockdown that bad, take the extra 24 hours and master brawler. It's alot better anyways, warcry2 helps out alot as well as intimidate2...
