Does it matter what order you apply the mind bleeds to get the most damage?

I usually Mindbleed 2 then Mindbleed 1. Does is still stack or does it have to be in a certain order?

Any imput would be appreciated. I want to ge the most out of my bleeds.

the order in which you apply the bleeds doesn't affect the damage, but whichever you apply first will affect the target first...

eg. Apply Bleed 1, Apply Bleed 2, Bleed 1 affects target, Bleed 2 affects target.

So if you wanna kill the target faster, try applying your more powerful bleed first.

From a mechanics perspective, order does not matter. And, yes, they will stack.

From a tactical perspecitve, I always start with the higher level bleed (Mindhit2). If, for some reason, I cannot get in a second swing, I would rather that first hit was the higher level bleed.

In general, the way bleeds work is as follows:

You hit the target with a bleed special. The initial damage is recorded, but no actual damage takes place at this time. The bleed timer starts.Twenty seconds later and everytwenty seconds thereafter for the duration of the bleed, damage in the amount of the initial hit is deducted from the bleeding pool. Level1 bleeds (Mindhit1, Mindshot1, etc.) will last for 2 minutes (6 ticks). Level 2 bleeds (Mindhit2, Mindshot2, etc.) will last for 3 minutes (9 ticks).

Bleeds from different specials will stack. So you can hit a creature with Mindhit1 and Mindhit2 and get two independent bleeds going. If you have Rifle skills, you can add Mindshot1 and Mindshot2 for two more bleeds (four bleeds total).

A second hit from the same special will not add another bleed of that type, but, rather, the higher damage of the two will become the bleed increment. I.e., If you hit with Mindhit1 for 600 damage, then hit again for 800, the bleed will become 800. If the 800 hit first, then the 600, the damage would remain 800.

Thank you.

so in other words in PvP its pointless to use Mindhit 2 if u have already hit mindhit 2 on the target unless your just trying to get a larger bleed. It is more tactical to apply a mindhit1 as they will stack the the target will bleed like a stuck pig.

Then proceed to attack the mind pool.

yeah in pvp, mindhit2, mind hit 1, headshot headshot, and then one of you will fall over dead.

Does anyone know if the duration is reset when you rebleed? I've been wondering about that. I assume the answer is yes. Should be easy enough to test, I guess I'll go do that.

I don't believe it is. I have seen several times with different weapon that my bleeds appear right after re-bleeding with the new damage ticks.

From my observations the timer isn't reset. Others have tested it before (in the ranged profession forums) and said the timers don't reset, so there's no harm in going fishing for the highest bleed possible, if that's your goal. If you get really lucky, you'll hit for a much higher amount right before the tick.

Actually that's good info too, but I was concerned about the duration.

Say my bleed has only 2 ticks left and I rebleed, will that reset the duration?

I just started swordsman, and I can't find where on the trees we get the ability to cause bleeds...although I've seen it written about quite a bit. What skill allows me to cause bleeds, and what's the best way to get it?

They arein the Finesse line, at box 1 and box 3, I believe. The specialsare called /melee2hMindhit1 and /melee2hMindhit2, or commonly referred to in discussions as Mindhit1 and Mindhit2.
