Thread: Elderly mugging

I know it's been said, but tonight I had to go try it for myself, so I went out and picked a fight with a NS elder. Was VERY VERY fun. She hit me with all kinda states, and was doing some serious damage with her bleeds. I'm a master doc, and I just capped myself with head hit 3 on my dmg sliced geo powerhammers, so I was able to stand my ground, but I did have some moments of some seriously high pucker factor when she hit me with dizzythen posture down then bleed, and I was floppign around trying my stand/healstate macro, but in the end I got her. The old bag only had 3k credits on her, but it was still worth the effort. Anyway, I just wanted to toot my own horn in public cause I'm quite proud of my first solo elder kill after they added force powers back in. In the future, though, I'll be bringing along a rifle/cm just to save time and so I don't have to heal my own damage.

Oh, I also was using /taunt heavily once she got below 50k mind, and it works wonders at preventing the warping target bug.

Basically, I think that this was the most fun I've had in game in a long long time.

Just curious what other things you used....

I have heard that Intimidate works well when fighting them also. I had a run-in last night for the first time but it ended up being two Elders and a Spell Weaver so I didn't fare well at all.

I am guessing I need to be Mind Buffed, loaded up on Canape and Brandy and then go to town with my Power Hammer.

If you could, what is the HealState macro you use? I am aware it's probably just cycling thru your State Stims but would love to see what kind of pauses you use, etc.... I am going to try to get one of these Solo sometime soon and take one on.

My fall back if I need it is going to be my Equilibrium skill (I am Zabrak) so that if my mind is about wasted I can toss a full stim on myself, then do Equilibrium and (tah-dah) instantly have full mind again.

Don't have everything in front of me (I'm at work), but basically you have to ALWAYS keep them intimidated at all times. I also run CoB continuously while fighting tham. As far as state heals go when I get badly stated I use warcry1 untill it sticks (will delay them for 10 seconds) and then I hit myself with whichever stimpack I'm most concerned about (usually dizzy then intimidate then stun then blind) I don't use a macro, just have them all lined up in my toolbar on the second page, along with my stims/foods and a very basic assortment of combat commands (really only use mind hits 1&2, then intim and lots and lots of headhit3). as far as standgin up from dizzy/kd I have a two line macro /stand; /ui action toolbarSlotXX where the slot number is the dizzy state stimpack. It works sometimes, not reliably enough, though. As far as food goes, I really don't see the need that a lot of people have to go over the top here. I usually use 2 brandies at a time, which last 47 min each, and 2 47 min ahrisa, I have plenty of regen to cover damage and I have 0 mind cost when spamming specials. If my mind gets hit really hard (i.e. protector with a stun baton, almost as tough as an elder with a regular weapon) then I pop a muon gold (for those of you who came after the chef revamp, this is a spice made by smugglers, lol, j/k but hardly anyone ever uses it anymore) Anyway, it's cheap as hell and lasts a solid 10 min, afterwhich I pop a 33 filling canape and a third brandy (usually have room by the time the downer hits me.) if I'm still fighting, but almost always the 10 min muon will outlast the fight by about 3 or 4 min, since I usually don't need it till near the end of the fight. Anyway, hope this helps

*Wanderlei's Nightsister Elder Hunting Crash Course*

Rule #1
Elders with a stun baton are the easiest. You only need one thing.... /burst

Skills
Master Swordsman
Master Bawler
2040 Medic (or Doctor if you have the skill points for it)

Equipment
80% Elec 85% Base composite armor
Power Hammer with the best DPS you can get considering your speed.
Full buffs and Brandy

When you see a spawn with an elder, walk toward the elder slowly until you see a "?" above her head. Continue until she attacks you. Run away while spamming Intimidate 2 until the rest of the spawn is about 100m away. Turn the elder so that you are between her and her sisters.

Spam away with Head Hit 3. DO NOT Mind Hit 2.

If she carries any weapon except for a vibro lance you should rarely have to heal yourself. In case of a vibro lance, take a canape or two and have a bunch of stims ready to go.

When she bleeds you, spam warcy 2 until it hits. /firstaid as many times as you need to and heal yourself if needed. If she is bleeding, then take special care not to spam First Aid as bleeding breaks warcy. If you have doctor you can heal your states while she is delayed. When you're done healing, she should still be delayed. This is a great time to hit her with Intimidate 2 again.

When she is almost dead, she will run away. Just give her a /taunt or two to bring her back.

Congrats, you have passed Wanderlei's Nightsister Elder Hunting Crash Course.

Cool thanks for the info. I'll make sure not to bleed the elders anymore

Oh yeah anyone here try beating the hell out of tusken observers? The thing was hitting me with a bleed that was 1500 a tick. And for some odd odd reason the SoB was beating right through my armor. He was using the gaderiffi baton(however you spell it) don't those do kinetic damage? I don't know though but I attacked this thing twice and it killed me both times neither of them were mind incapps either. Odd...Pissed me off

and the rituals that fade away, and the roses that cease to be laid, and it's clear to me that we're one foot in a very shallow grave

On the Bleeding issue, it doesn't matter as much if you bleed em or not, because you end up getting that 1-2 point bleed off of head hit III anyway. I would agree though that for the value of the bleeds you put on on purpose, that the damage isn't worth the lack of being able to warcry2.

All Tuskens are easy. I took them on as M.Rifleman/Brawler/Swordsman with Novice Medic. Got a cheap 80%Kin/Energy suit and it was all easy from there. Only thing annoying about them was bleeds and the occasional blind. It got me kd/dizzy a few times but nothing major. I'm not speed capped either and they don't take long. Good luck on loot though. They are stingy.

If no one wants to pick up medic Ill tell you how to solo an elder with out it lol.

Call your bike out bout 100 meters from her then engage battle when yourHAM starts getting past halfway hit peace run to your bike and have her follow you a lil ways to you are healed up jump off and start manhandling her again ive done this 4 times already.
