I'm just posting to find out what some of you guys' general view of what swordsman should be for the Combat Revamp. Heres mine...
Well a lot of people think swordsman is just a big muscular person swinging about a sword or Axe, while not caring what they hit.In my opinion, I think that that style of fighting is more berserker than swordsman. I view swordsman as a profession that although may not be AS fast as fencer, they are still fast in their own right, not extremely slow, in the case of a power hammer. I also think that swordsmen tend to be very accurate in their attacks, and are highly stylized. My view of swordsman is kind of like a newer age samurai. So maybe for the people that want a big berserker type profession, they could possibly create a new profession that involves axes, and is really slow but higher damage output.
Thats just my idea of what I think a swordsman should be, what do you guys think
...?

my view is sorta what you think, a newer age samari. and know what a thing they could add would be them being able to hold 2 different swords at the same time, and maybe get a small damage increase, my brother says that is a little more to the fencer side.

we are the2-handed swords profession. using 2 weapons at once would mean we need 4 hands, hehe. ya your idea is more of a fencer with 2 small swords, we carry the bid bad swords.

Ya we have big bad swords, but we should get ones like Cloud and Sephiroth and stuff. They aren't slow but really accurate and fast

Accuracy isn't a much of a concern for me.
I personally think it takes a lot of strength to swing a PH, so if your target moves it would take more strength to redirect it.
Fencers and TKA should be the most accurate, but not unbalancingly so, as TKA right now.

Yes, I agree, historically speaking two-handed swords, wielded by a master were a fearsome sight! Not only were they very powerful, but highly accurate as well. Not the fastest things on earth, but they could easily outdamage most other weapons in the field in two handed combat.... A powerhamer, should be one of the most damaging weapons in the game considering it also has advanced technology of Star Wars behind it :-) So damage, accuracy and not the fastest would make a great swordsman... certainly a noble profession...

okay, i guess that you would be right about the holding two swords thingy, and seperoth had a really powerful katana, a ninja weapon. A better view would be like a jugernaut with a rediculusly big sword.
