Thread: Looting tips and techniques?

i've been looting for quite a while now and i've come to realise that there is a tehcnique to looting the corpse of its items, and i have been trying different methods of looting...i.e using a loot macro, or just double clicking, or using the radial dial and pressing either loot or loot all. Then i have also been tryin to use a certain technique by looting the the NPC as soon as it dies or looting all the corpses when everythin around me is dead and i have peaced. But none of these really have come to much avail.
So therefore i was wondering if any ofyou very experienced and successful looters have any tips or techniques or locations for me to become a more successful looter. If u feel u dont want to share these tips openly on the forum but u dont mind sharing them with me personally, i will also be grateful to any pm's u cna give me.

should put budding pro looter on my sig instead of pro looter 
oh yeah....can any1 tell me how to get colour writing....i've completely forogtten....i did it on my house a while back cause some1 helped me, but now cant remember

I use a macro...too lazy for the radial....
Q: How do I color text?
A: Parts of SWG chat, item names, and most store signs use html-syntax color.
\#FF0000\This is RED
\#00FF00\This is GREEN
\#0000FF\This is BLUE

i know its luck.....but there is also a certain skill about looting i assure u that much.....just hoped some1 who is very atuned to the looting sid eof things would be able to shed some light on the matter.

There are not to many spotsfor "goodloots"....geno cave/dwb/tusken...if these are camped u can hunt down krayts, djk, sith, nightsisters or doing the vette....from the mission terms imo only mokks/jantas on dantooine or aakuans on talus are worth it...but keep in mind...some very good loots were made of meat lumps around the greater npc-cities....
P.S. If u go out for hunting things like krayts or nightsisters...take a ranger with u...he can track those....

There is no technique, I can assure you that much. Looting is completely random and it is my theory that the loot is already associated with an NPC/creature when it spawns so nothing will affect what you get or if you get anything at all.

Well first do your sig and color letters etc. as you wish (easiest way is doing this in reply/new message window), when you are done click the Edit As HTML button and you will get all that what you writed in html code including colors etc. Just copy and paste that to your profile->signature and save.

any swordsman from infinity here? if so this question will apply to u guys and girls.....is the looting of items broken or somethin on the server? cause i had been looting ns for almsot a whole day.....3 doc buffs worth...and guess wot i cam eup wit....3 ITEMS!!!!!! JUST 3 ITMES!!!! i then inquired from a friend wot the hell wa goin on...whether i was just pure unlucky that day or if somethin was up the shoot again...and she seemed to think there has bin probs with loots.
is this true is my question...if so when will this be rectified? cause this is wot my character does for a living on this server!

The loot tables were broken by some JtLS code - should be fixed after today's patch.

Here is my method
/loot;/harvest meat;/deathblow
You can have one macro for three corpse options.
If you don't have scout, pull out the harvest bit. I hit it as soon as i nuke a mob. I hunt sisters, and i want to make sure that if something crappy should happen, such as a 2k bleed, or my comp goes down, i got the loot off the last one i took down. I hit it as i see them flying backward when they corpse. I like it when the body disapears before it hits the ground.
