I belive this story and I don't belive this story.
I DO belive in this cave, cuz there was 1, with meatlumps, 2k away from my city. and it was 500m from the nearest house. I think its a 1 time thing, I mean how many people have found it twice? None. So, I think when you defeat all the meatlump f00ls, it disappears from your char, forever.
I DON'T belive in this story because, I mean, the meatlumps spawn like every 2 seconds on Corellia after you loot one, and they wouldn't respawn in this cave because ? Besides, I think there would be an announcement at least for game veterans.

A fun story whether true or not...
To the person whom made the comment about a random spawn not being possible on a structure friendly planet, that is absolutely rubbish...
Why? you ask, simple... there is plenty of locations on Corellia, Tatooine and Naboo (maybe even Talus, Dant and Rori too) where player cities/structures cannot be built due to landscape issues (cliffs, very uneven ground etc...) and these areas are the same on every server, so thus there is spots where a 'cave/underground base' could be implemented into the game...
That being said, I ain't suddenly gonna take off on a mass scouring of planets for such places... if I find them through chance, then so be it.

The Technology of it should be possible. Afterall, a Rebel or Imperial PVE or PVP base is essentially a Random Spawn base/dungeon. I recently read in a LIVE EVENT post that the Devs will occasionally get online and give awards or launch a Live Event. Perhaps this is a Live Event that gets dropped from time to time to see how we react. The SOE Devs have been known to log in from time to time and invite folks on missions, too. Maybe this is what some folks are seeing? I think it would be COOL to meet a Dev in-game and help test something or do a little roleplaying without having to create a new character and go to a TEST Server. Thoughts? On the other hand, it could be a SWG Urban Myth.. Hmmm?

In beta there were randomly spawning factioned bases that were much like what I saw of the meatlump cave. They were randomly spawning multi-level faction bases with pretty high level content. Why they were removed during beta is one of the great mysteries of SWG.

I died fighting from the meatlump king, didn't have anything but swordsman skills so i couldn't hurt him... by the time i rebuffed and went back, the cave was gone

do you remeber thoughs random spawns on talus that were like mini bases? you had to destroy the walls and stuff to be able to get the destroy the base. it was really cool and all. however they never worked right and they always seemed to spawn right on top of someone trapping them in the cage lol. and you couldn't get out unless you had someone duel you and kill you.
they were really cool and i miss seeing them
