Thread: 3 hit kills in pvp? Swordsman overpowered?
Therefor I am TKM, MS and 4000 Doctor.. I can tank necrosis with food

I don't think its possible to hit a master defender for 1400 PvP damage unless you score a critical hit. I average between 1000-1200 damage a hit when i'm using cor ale. Thats with a 1360 PH at 1.1speed.

I personally dont use the 1.5 theory anymore. But even if you did its 1.5 times the average combat player. A swordsman who knows what hes doing will be able to kill most anyone that gets in his range.
In general power hammers are better than sabers.
Swordsman can wear armor and have it AB sliced.
Swordsman SEAs are easier to max out on.
Swordsman weapons can use PuPs.
Swordsman accuracy and defence mods are most likely higher than a jedi's.
Add all these things up with the right template and you have more of a 1:1 ratio.
As for being killed in 3 hits, id say its possible, but shouldnt happen every fight.
I'm not gonna disagree with your statement at all except the 1:1 ratio. One thing I would like to know is how people are capable of hitting for 1300 - 1400 after armor mitigation against someone regardless of the template.
See a guildie of mine practiced on me the other day and I could have run an infuse macro and gotten a sandwich. His was an 1100 power hammer with no power up. Even knocked down with armor break he was incapable of hitting me for 800 after armor mitigation.
So before I speak any more on the subject, can someone lay out the math that would allow someone to hit for that much?
Use a capped powered up power hammer as an example with armor break and kd for your two strongest hits (head and critical?). Use highest possible against an opponent with 6000 armor and aura running. I'm horrible at math or I'd do it myself.

Yah, I've hit a TKA with COB for 1400, but that was a crit when he was KD'd.
I've hit master enhancers for 1600+, same as above.
I'm not sure what the hardest I've hit a defender is, I consistently hit in teh 800-900 range when they're armor broken.
I have a 710 damage saber and even not as a master saber i run out of action in a fight. Usually its because of KD recovery mainly though. Jedi are supposed to be stronger however and the action cost is where that is shown the most. high damage sabers are rather rare now as the old jedi slowly leave the game.

I have 2 jedi in my guild and they stand more than toe to toe with my tkm master sword and doc 4 template

Please enlighten me on your 3 second keyboard abilities. Now perhaps your hammers aren't as good as the ones I get hit with.
Now granted someone without a kickin hammer isn't gonna do that damage but it shouldn't be possible. Thus the point of my post. However you'd think someone with an 1100 damage hammer wouldn't do 1300 damage but perhaps you haven't found your armor break yet.

So you think the entire profession should be nerfed, or as you are questioning itas being "overpowered" because a handful of ppl have a "kickin" hammer that can deal excellent damage? Have you fought a jedi with a near or perfect saber? Yeah, you tell me who needs the nerf then k?
You know I was just saying this earlier a jedi with a near perfect saber will hit just as hard as my 1450 dmg ph will twice as fast(once a second) With 1/4th the action cost if they have a sac saber at all. I have a jedi to with a 720 dmg saber just think its a bit unbalanced that swordsman have such a huge action cost and slow speed compared to the jedi counterpart who have twice the damage output. Action cost was lowered cause elemental dmg wasn't working now that elemental dmg is there Action cost is the same.
Fought a guildie another 720+dmg saber action cost spent the entier fight healing being able to do 1 or 2 attacks at a time Im master doc Mswords 0040 pike 7k energy enhanced armor Caped on speed and accuracy. And i can't even come close to the same dmg output.
Firstly i think swordsman action costs need to be reduced drasticly jedis need theres raised a little bit Being able to attack through there whole force bar without running out of action is just unbalancing.

mrdecipher jedi are not suposed to be the heaviest damage dealers in the game swordsman/rifleman are Jedi is a all around character. If there action cost is so low and there speed is so fast they are overpowering. There actual dps with a decent saber is better than any swordsman or rifleman could dream of.

It's not the proffession that's overpowered it's this guys hammer......I'm maxed out on two handed and general spd. and acc. mods and with a decent hammer cant get in the same park as this guys DPS. Not saying this guy is responsible but either this hammer conveted really fraggin good from the old system....or it was made with a whacked out ack drop or something.
Weapons like this were mostly wiped out by the CU conversion but some exceptional stuff has still apperently survived the times

My hammer is post CU crafted and every component is post CU looted. There are dozens of hammers liek mine on flurry and bria that i know of.
Well...then I stand corrected. I've had 12 pt WS build PH's with +21 dmg agents and -14 SAC cubes and never got a hammer like that. I suppose there is a trick to it I have yet to discover....ho humm back to the drawing board

the onlyway to get a hammer like that post-cu are : u make a 82sac 990 2.8 speed
put a 30%speed pup on it slice it for 4 %dmg
then put a 35%dmg pup on it slice it for 4%speed
and voila u got a 612-1181 82sac 1.8 speed hammer

Didn't they fix slicing with pups on? When i forgot to take mine off before slice the damage just went down to about 850 from 1k
