Thread: Swordsman sucks in pvp devs please fix this class
Alright, I dont see where or how we suck. Last night, I gathered 2 of my friends who were master fencers, one a master brawler, and then two master tka, one a master brawler.I am aMaster HS, and a master brawler. were all unbuffed, except for meditation, and food/spice. I did a total of 24 duels, 12 vs the fencers, and 12 vs the TKMs. Note that this is only a comparison of us vs other popular melee classes.
Fencers11 wins, 1 loss. First duel, wearing my 80% kinetic composite we started. He pulled out a stun baton, and I was on the ground quickly.
Alright, I take of my armor.
Next 11 duels: I opened with CoB, and then intimdate2. He would kd, dizzy, and then spam attacks until i got up. With my template, i am migrated to use a powerhammer,( but with poor accuracy and damage mitigation, I opt to use a cleaver or axe in pvp btw) so the scythe and curved sword eat my action up too quickly. All of those duels I won. Since neither of us were buffed, we could not use more than a few strategic specials here and there, and alot of the duels were down to the wire.
TKA: 6 wins, 6 losses: I would don my 80% kinetic armor, and watch them go, conserving my HAM by holding back on specials (other than CoB and intimidate2). He would kd me, and dizzy. I would be down for what seemed like forever, and then a very exhausted tka would hit the ground once I hit him a couple of times with hit3. On my losses, I would get back up finally, only to be knocked back down almost instantly.
I used no 'secret tactics'. There were no buffs, which makes it a very different combat scene, and there were no heals (despite me being a master medic).
And also, during the last 4 days in pvp, I have DB 27 individuals, and been DB 8 times. Not too bad if you ask me. (and yes, i do keep a tally sadly enough =))
Actually, since the last publish, I've found TKA to be one of the hardest professions for us to beat. A TKA can wear 80%+ kinetic/blast armor and can intimidate just as easily as we can, which also drops our damage to crap, and negates our counterattack ability. With their greater toughness coupled with the lesser effects damage mitigation has on them, it can be a very tough fight. You also can't forget the fact that they can buff themselves 550 to HAM, can recover from incap, and can dizzy/KD.
I'd definately say swordsmen are very lacking in PvP right now. We can definately hold our own if played correctly, but against someone of equall skill in another class, we will most likely lose (unless it's one of the few classes more gimped than we are.).
