I seem stronger! I can kill more stuff without my special moves, and save them for when I am in trouble. It's only a slight difference, and I may be smokin something but it seemed stronger.. I also solo'd a ronto and bull ronto (with my stim b's of course) at the same timeand I didn't die. I used a stim once per aniaml. I had not tried to kill a ronto pre-patch but it was sooooooooo cool. I remember see'ing a wookie do it once and thinking. WOW what a bad a55. NOW I AM A BAD a^^!%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I luv 2handed it rox0rs! My curved swors is great. Never foundthe clever thingy I don't think anyone makes it. I am working on the 1st 4 bottom boxes of swordsment I am half way through them. I think they use shared XP. I notice myself get stronger A) when I finish a box and B) when i a halfway through a box.

I'm not using berserk any more, theextra damage I'm doingdoesn'toffset the extra punishment I take. I can't really think of a scenario where I'd want to use it, either.

I'm coming out of fights much better now, if I just keep them intimidated and use standardattacks with a few specials thrown in. It takes me longer to kill stuff now, but I have less downtime because I take less damage this way.

>One caveate: with the 1 second cap on swinging the Cleaver MAY actually be the better choice for high level swordsmen. That's a wild card issue.

Now if only I could get a bloody cleaver on my server. **edit** Starsider has the crapiest resources. There's only one type of iron right now, and it's not the right one (Or at least that's what I heard from a weaponsmith. All I know is they weren't able to be made, even after resource shift.).

As for the patch.....we got raped by it, plain and simple. On the PvP end, that is. Most of the reasons have already been mentioned.

I've been checking out some creature stats and I'm starting to think the Power Hammer may be alright as is. Many creatures have a much lower Blast resist than Kinetic-- enough to more than make up for the Power Hammer's lower DPS. It's definitely situational, but that's not necessarily bad (it just encourages smarter play).

Ok... Here's the big problem with the latest patch. It DID help out the Cleaver and Power Hammer, but not enough.

Right now as made by a Master Weaponsmith with good materials is about 47-48 DPS, meanwhile a Curved Sword is around 51-52 DPS. Now, that's not a huge difference, but it's still a let down. I suppose if you prefer the look of the Cleaver (personally, I like being a Samurai) then it may be worthwile to use it now. However, if anything it should be the other way around with the DPS of the Cleaver being better.

One caveate: with the 1 second cap on swinging the Cleaver MAY actually be the better choice for high level swordsmen. That's a wild card issue.

Then we have the Power Hammer... Once again it's been improved, but it still only does 40 DPS which is much, much lower than the others. Granted it does Blast, but still... I don't know, maybe that's a big issue to consider, I'll have to check out some mob resistances. It also uses Health for HAM so maybe it will be better for some races.

I haven't seen any Vibro Axes so I can't speak for those, maybe someone else can give feedback on them?

That should read right now, as made by a Master Weaponsmith with good materials, a Cleaver is...

The patch is somewhat ok to me. The only problem I have is that doing 3k to creatures with 2handhit3, and now doing 380 dmg to melee players is a big loss. If you look at the action cost it takes to do that much damage, you'll see that it's basically killing myself. If I walk up to somebody and use 2handhit3 on them continuously, I have to heal myself mid-battle, so I can keep doing more before the guy dies. I think that's absolutely ridiculous. Because the patch reduced pvp damage by a percentage, all the high damage dealing professions like rifleman/heavy swordsman were affected the most. Pistoleers doing 1k dmg with stopping shot now doing 150 damage to players isn't that much of a loss compared to 3k to creatures and 380 to melee players. I do about 500 to ranged if I get lucky and over 1k to rifle weilders. But that's only if I get lucky. The only way to attack people now is to use Area3 so they get posturedowned and hopefully fall down from dizzy. Area3 does dizzy now btw, and so does 2handhit3. When they start running from you, because the game is so laggy and they appear infront of you, but they're not, you have to basically try and cut them off. Hopefully you can get in an Area3 to posture down so they stop running, but it's obviously very difficult. The only thing I like about this patch is that I can run around theed and kill 10+ imps before dying, but that isn't possible without my medic, so there goes my hopes of trying out master brawler for the 15m knockdown. I feel that they need to either decrease the pvp damage on lower damage dealing professions like TKA, pistoleer, 1hand swordsman, etc....Or, increase the damage on the higher damage dealing professions like heavy swordsman, rifleman, pikeman. I feel that pikeman have been hurt the most, because they honestly weren't too good even before the patch, and now......they're even worse because their target runs away from them and their knockdown moves cost so much to use.

Actually...I take it back. I think the Powerhammer and Cleaver need a slight increase still. I just realized that the DPS of my Sliced Curve is 83. Whereas even if I get a 30% slice on my Power Hammer and Cleaver, they will come nowhere near that speed. I know there's a one second cap, but still...

Hmm...well, I calculated it out, and it turns out that at some point a Power Hammer starts to out damage the other weapons due to the 1 second cap. So, maybe the trick is, we can "use" these weapons early on, but we don't really "master" them until later?

Simple fix for Swordsman vs. Ranged in PvP - make traps work against PCs hehe -

would be a *huge* boon to me anyway, I have trapping 4...

I'm not agreed w/ the weapon issue.

As Master HS the best weapon is the Power Hammer. On bloodfin i'll find a good melee crafter (blammo corp), that craft really good power hammer.

Base stats:
Dmg: 76-340˜ sliced 150-530˜

Spd: 6.0 seem to be a really high value ... but is not true cos as Master u have a sensible reduction in speed attack (+75 Two-handed Melee Speed w/o any skill enachment, w/ a real speed near the 2.5 - 3sec)

Stats cost: Health-102˜ / Action-50˜ / Mind-45˜ (around -122 HAM cost w/ a 2htohit3) could be better w/ experimentation and the best materials.

Range Mod: -40 @ 0m / -40 @ 3m / -40 @ 5m (like the speed the missing rate is greatly reduced as master ---> +110 Two-handed Melee Accurancy)

I hit w/ a range 2500/10000dmg x Swing w/ a ToHit3 (i've oneshotted an imp w/ a 1200dmg swing - post 75%patch of course).

I think that a good crafted Power Hammer is the best Weapon that a Master can handle (but prolly a waste of money for a NON-Master).

P.s. Really need a SWORD WEAPON and not an HAMMER as Novice swordman certification. I'm tired to seem like a weaponsmith at forge.

Well The Berserk NERF SUXX

- Understandable that berserk 1 was nerfed you get that as a novice brawler - but hey berserk 2 means that you have to be a master brawler - that is rather expensive - I did masterbrawler ONLY to get berserk 2 - but now well no reason to be a masterbrawler as it simply takes too many skillpoints compared to the gain
