I've never tried the static myself, only heard of it a couple of weeks ago lol 
all the GDKs i've found have been random spawns between the base of Mt Chaolt and the imperial OP, found without ranger, just biking in kinda a straight line (veering off to kill the odd Gurk lair of course 
)
