Swordsman/TKM/Master brawler/ medic 2/2/4/0 FS Melee Speed is my template
And my toon is zabrak so:
Force of will
Equilibrium
First aid
Meditiate/powerboost
Decent ranged and melee defense
Hard-hitting offense
and with decent stims i can heal nearly my whole buffed health and action
Sythesteak is a good replacement for ranged mitigation.... but watch for when it wears out
You get some combat equilibrium which helps you get up faster when knockdown
Between various macros i use, in conjunction with.. of course... head hit 3 i do fine agaisnt jedi and non-jedi
Just use a high damage PH and eat accuracy food you'll even hit fencers (not 100% though about 60-70%)
Use TKM or lunge 2 for the knockdown.... a few head hits it's over... especially with those ranged with no mitigation
Agaisnt those with dots... especially mind dots i just keep my health and action full, once my mind drops i use equilibrium
No matter the template though, once the fight starts it turns into a thinking mans game, see what you opponent does and stop it fast, then launch your own attack

I dont get it...This discussion came up every few days/weeks...We have so many threads in this forum and some good guides stickied...
IMO there is NO TEMPLATE WITCH IS UBER FOR ALL SITUATIONS....AFAIK the only template witch is nearly balanced is Master Brawler/Swords/Doc 4000 and 13 SP left for FS-Skills(Melee Spd./Acc + some more Melee/ranged-Def.)...With the right gear u can crush thru most High End Mobs and have a good chance to win 1:1 duels against most melee/jedi(non Master Defender)...But to be honest the best gear wont help anything if u dont know how to play the profession...To be successfull in PvP is more about experience than equipment...

yeah that's right i agree with a wookie for once
Learn to play your profession... most people grind so fast then complain once they start constantly losing
And no template is "Uber" (gah i hate that word) agaisnt everything. Build your template around whatever you do best
not much to it
