Thread: Novice Swordman....what to train?
for the most part i just level up at the Tusken Camp so what attack would be most beneficial for me? I mainly use 2HandSpin1 b/c the Tuskens spawn next to each other, so wouldn't the logical Progression be 2HandSpin2? Any thoughts?
Additionally, have people found that a 2Handed Sword with good speed is better than say a Vibro-Axe?
this is alittle of topic but .......
how did u get ur sword to be that good !?!
I'm currently an Int Swordsman using a 2H curved sword (77-240 dmg, 2.2 spd) and all I can say is this...
I've been xping at tusken camp using 2H Area Hit 1 for a group of tuskens and beserk or any single target attack for banthas...for king and capt I also use 2H Area Hit 1 and reason is this...2H area hit causes all the mobs around you to lower their posture while dealing very good dmg (500-2000) so I almost never get hit by a group of tuskens while they're in lowered positions...same with King and Capt...I just keep spamming AreaHit 1 and even was able to pull off -5554 dmg (which I probably won't see anytime soon again).
The only downside to using that style is that it drains the Action pool significantly...but as long as you're using it and it sticks to mobs...you can very well solo a group of tuskens with relatively no problem. I tried soloing 3 tuskens twice while at the tusken fort entrance and was able to take em down with only getting hit by their range weapon as I'm closing in...but once you execute the 2H Areahit style you're pretty much in control...rarely do I miss.
IMO, speed and HAM costs on a 2H sword are more important than the dmg it does since the more hits we get in, the more chance for a high dmg output we get. With my 2.2 spd 2H curved sword (Katana), I do not pause at all when executing AreaHit styles thus not giving mobs the chance to hit me unless I miss the style which is pretty rare. So to me, this style would be more useful than the Spin attacks since it lowers mobs posture so it doesn't matter if you have all the aggro. ;-)
I hope this piece of information helps.
Rightman, Thanks a lot.
So it does lower the posture...makes them kneel or fall down? I made a separate post about that style and nobody replied, thanks for this info though.
Yesterday, I was on my way to train in my 2nd intermediate skill and I lost my Internet connection, just got it back this morning. Apparently some dolt cable guy disconnected one of the main lines going to my place.
Anyway when I get back on, I have to decide to train Offense or Finesse, or save up 75k more points and go with Adv. Defense. SInce next training in Defense gives added stats(for defense duh) I'm wondering how much it would affect the incredible amount of damage we take. More parrying/blocking? Who knows.

In PvE, I'd definately agree with this. But in PvP, you want all the front end damage you can get.
