I was a master Fencer/Master Swordsman/Master Pikeman (yes all at the same time) and I soloed the Ancients but it took a long time and the buffs needed to be elite. I have also been MasterDoctor/Master Swordsman, I dont like the heavy cost to the mind that this combo brings. I am always in search of the best PvE combo and atm I am a Master Combat Medic/Swordsman0444. Has anyone else tried this? or Master Swordsman/CM4404 ? Im curious to hear some war stories. The hardest thing about soloing Krayts is getting the loot rights from whatever Rifleman leech is around, I figure with action, health and mind poison adding to my big sword blows, I will always get the loot rights. (I have not got to try it out yet).

those 30 hits will be over in no time anyway. with my template krayts (normal canyon ones) take about 3-5 mins, and they hit every second - once in 2 seconds. synthsteak is a pvp only food. With a melee defense of 121 (117 + 4sea), I don't get hit as often as you. With great buffs and the right foods, I've solo'd elders without being healed. I figured out I could do this, when the doctor that was with me got killed once for letting his mind drop too low and I had to fight the elder solo until he got back.Well, you know how doctors are... He got out of the cloner and made ssure he was insured, then visited the cantina long enough to get his bf back under 250 so it wouldn't affect his buffs, then healed his wounds and buffed up before jumping on his bike. (I don't think he expected me to be there when he got back). When he finally got back, I still had 40% of my health. After we finished it off, I started thinking about it. All I was using was brandy and synthsteak along with my CoB macro. So last night, I loaded up on some other foods and set out for a new adventure. I was going to kill and elder without healing myself. And with my extra skillpoints used up in scouting, there was no way to heal myself if I wanted to. Before I left, I found the best buffs I could get - not bothering with mindbuffs. I have brandy - the cantina is a waste of my time. I also visited the chef forums and found some new friends. I'll let you guys figure out who my new food friends are - it's not real tough and it'll give you something to do when you're bored of soloing huge mobs.3500m out from the Science Outpost I came across a mob of NS protectors. I look around and saw an elder in the bunch. I slowly circled the group until I could get a clean pull on the elder with my rifle. I pulled out my PH and started my CoB macro. Now it was time to powerboost. I then switched back to my rifle and fired. As soon as she started towards me, I put my rifle back in my pack. It was my PH that I wanted for this fight. When she closed to about 20m I popped my first synthsteak and began to stack intimidates. Whoops... forgot the brandy... why do I always do that... 2 of those in my belly now. I alternated between headhit3 and intimidate until I noticed the avg dmg per blow go up and I popped another steak.By the time I had 100k off the beasts mind, I had burned through both hits of synth steak and was afraid to take more. I needed to save room for my other food. I noticed my powerboost had worn off, but it had only burned the empty health. I was near full health and almost 1/4 done. I continued my onslaught, hitting for several headhit3's then stacking several intimidates before resuming my attacks. I was also careful to make sure that she was always bleeding. Without the synthsteak, she began to wear me down at a fair pace, when I finally dropped to 10% health, I consumed my two new favorites from my friendly chef. I was seriously back in the game now. This was looking to become a breeze - ya right....I fought long enough, I had to pop yet one more synthsteak to finish it out, and even with that, I had to use the old zabrak equilibrium trick and ride out the end of the fight on a pixie. This is by no means a sure thing. I tried two more times after this (once I forgot to wait the hour to get my /equilibrium use back - that didn't go well). And the third attempt, the elder had a bit more ham, and I just couldn't get enough dmg in before I ran out of tricks.I'm pretty sure that my armor is what makes me able to do this. I don't use composite. I'm using 72% kinetic ubese that is mostly encumbrance sliced. This often allows me to fully regen from a hit before I take the next one when the elder is intimidated and I'm using synth steak. The reason that I'm not telling you which food I used is because I want you to go experiment. It won't be the same for all ppl. I'll post back here in two days and let the ppl that are really interested know how I did it. Having stuff spoon fed to you isn't any fun and it'll give you a chance to talk to your chef and learn about what he can offer you. Some of you will find this interesting as well. I'm not using any speed mods. I'm using a 486 max dmg geo hammer with a dmg slice and 16/33 dmg pups. With this weapon, my mind fully regens while I'm stacking my intimidates. You guys with the extra speed mods may want to slow down and use something besides ahrisa as a food.
first, I have capped ranged defense and melee defense, and even if I swith to fencer and cob macro + dodge food i get hit way too often...
secondly, you have a lot of good points there, but using vercupti instead of stims is an easy way to do something without healing
did I guess correctly on the food btw? weird you still had some filling left for it though..

btw, I suck against gorax and giant canyons. I can't seem to do anything against that kd. I'm very open to suggestions about how to handle those guys. Right now I don't feel like they can be solo'd without meds, but if it weren't by pure accident the other night, I'd have never tried to solo the elder without meds either.
Someone with some nice def vs kd mods could possible do it, but I doubt it.

Real Vorda. I had both vercupti and won-won. I had planned to use the vercupti but didn't have room in my fat gut for it. I found that if I don't over indulge in synthsteak that I will actually recover health if I can pop a won-won and synthsteak at the same time. There is also a way to use the terrain to a slight advantage that causes you to not get hit as often. I don't understand why it works, but it does.
The filling on the won-won goes away pretty fast, so you don't overfill.
I tried something similar to this last night again, and it didn't work for crap. This truly only works with the best buffs, and you really need to time it right. I've convinced myself that I got lucky in order to do it on the first try, but with practice, I think I could do it 1/4 to 1/3 of the time. There are some times that there is just no way you could do it. They get too many good shots in a row in, and you just can't cram in enough food.
Also, get the lowest filling you can on the steak and the won-won. Being able to down an extra won-won 2 minutes early becuase you weren't full of steak can me a life saver.

about those knockdowns... KD defense mods will only get you so far, once you fall you're down, especially if dizzied also. If you have a couple of skillpoints over I'd recommend getting 0/3/0/0 in TKAor something like that to get combat equilibrium. This will help you get back up in both PvE and PvP. Very useful thing.
