Thread: Is Master swordsman/Master doctor a LOT better then a TKM/ Master doctor in PVE?

I choose doctor because I want to be able to heal my self with the best stims I would also like to be able to make the best packs for my self. Plus I havent seen poison/disease have much effect on Creatures. I just want to be able to do the best PVE because the PVP is so screwed and gimped its not even worth trying to get around it. Plus if I decide I might want to become a jedi after the combat revamp I want to be able to take down monsters if that is needed.

Actually I found removing the Kimo Disease

to be a waste of time as he just redeases me.


After every Kimo fight I have 399 h/a wounds

and 1099 Mind wounds to Meditate Away.

I am master sword/master doc and having doc is nice indeed. But I dont find it makes me that much better solo in PvE then say having just medic. I haven't found many poison or diseases from MOBs except for the GDK and maybe the sarlacc that require me to heal them. The main thing I use is the state packs as dizzy and intimidate really are annoying. Being able to buff yourself is definitely a plus to having to travel back to a starport and then probably to another starport to wait in line for buffs that you have no idea how good they are. But certainly all the pluses to injury treatment speed from medic and wound treatment from doc, and the medicines make the whole time go by a lot smoother.


Now in groups having doc has been quite useful. Small groups allow you to fight and heal, where as big groups tend to put you into a healing job most of the time. But in groups it is nice to remove states, poisons, disease, rez, buff your friends, etc.


I also like doc because swordsman is not the best PvP template, and being a doctor gives me a role in the GCW, especially with all the CMs about.

With decent stim Bs you don't need anything over novice med really, and with both rifle and swords you get alot of extremely deadly damage types and abilities. I can bring down packs of NS rangers/initiates/outcasts before they even reach me, and the rest (which is usually half dead by the timeit gets to me) I just cleave with my scythe

have you ever tried giant dune kimos? It is the worst disease on the game.... i got 1099 MIND wounds with that in less than 12 seconds... I couldnt do that without doctor skills.

That would be impossible since disease only ticks once every 40 seconds. That's a 40 second window you have from the time the disease is applied until it ticks for the first time.


Poisons tick every 10 seconds.
