Aye.
Swordsmen don't run. We stay, fight, and make out enemies dead.

Ok, I am making rounds before bed. Please excuse me if I spell wrong or anything like that. I am on a +24 hours now.

Melee is not going away. Swords is not going away. Let me explain....

Do you wanna be a BH that is melee that has swords, now you can. Do you wanna be a Commando that has a sword, now you can. This goes for all professions. Any combat profession can pick up any weapon and play their unique weapon style.

The system is different, yes. But it is new. This is not whatever meets SWG. This system is maybe similiar in appearence to other games, but it is no way near the same system.

I emplore you all to give it a chance. Melee did not go away. And trust me, I asked first thing. Because it was the first thing I thought. I played around all the professions. You wanna stick, pick up a stick. You wanna use hands, use em. This is not your hash out = EQ2 in space whatever everyone is calling it. Yes it is new. Yes it will take a transition. Yes it is good. But most of all IT IS STAR WARS.

It took me all of 5 minutes to get the basic hang of the system. You should be able to learn quick. This game is no longer about button mashing (unless you really wanna twitch click the mouse) it is about how much skill you have as a player to stargitize and to actually aim at and stay with your target.

Give it a play. I think you will be suprised.

Tell it to creature handlers and bioeng. It just sounds to me like you are repeating a lot of SOE propaganda. I do not think you are going to get too many melee guys getting exited about this. We like being swordsman with a sword (well a hammer for a lot of us), and not commandos or BH with a sword. We like mixing templates, we like variety and SKILL BASED SYSTEM !!

On another note, I am wondering how they are going to pull off a more rt system with their laggy engine. I guess all that time when they were supposed to be fixing things for us, they must have been working miracles and optimizing their code....because this is the only way this entire fiasco is going to work.

"If it aint broken, fix it until it is! (nge)"

Skill based system, turn based combat, Teras Kasi, Creature Handler,
Ranger, BioEnginer, Swordsman, Fencer, Pikeman, Brawler, Riflemen,
Pistoleer, Carbineer, Scout. Skill, true Jedi, working economy, crafter
and entertainers that matter, professional interdependence. People,
inovation, originality, and fun....

Give it a chance?? Like the CU?? Did that before... the DEV's and SWG haven't given the game a chance or any real effort.

For the last year and a half I have spent vast amounts of time (Real Life time), vast amounts of money (RL), over 200+ million creds to cap my Swordsman, and my Sister's toon AA/CA wise, I have 2 sets of Health RIS, an Uber Hammer, and for what?

Are my tapes, health crystals, mind crystals, weapons, red cubes, +25 pastes, ADK's, etc... now useless?

They are going to reward JEDI's!! For there efforts??????? I didn't go Jedi... I didnt want to spend all my time whining... However I placed just as much time in developing my character as they did, why are they getting special rewards???

Oh, dont worry be happy...Right?

If i wanted to play a FPS I'd go out and buy one, something like MOH:AA which is actually designed that way.

okay. i know what the devs were going at... It is the way the game should have been made 2 years ago. I welcome the change.

But i just think it was really... really... Messed Up that they didn't even tell use what they were planning.

That is it. I mean this is a huge change for the game and we were told about it a few days before it goes onto test center.

Like all i would have wanted to know was like a month in advanced that they were planning this.

I mean why bother adding items with the expansion when they were just going to convert them later. Get the hype about that you can now train LvL 80 creatures and then take that away. Completely. I mean there is just a few things that should have been done before hand.

Just removing a profession from a game is just wrong. CH back in the day was probably the most fun profession to play. I mean going around and trying to tame that rare baby was just so much fun.

I guess that is the way of the past.

I know i will probably like the change but just wish there could have been a bit of heads up about it.

When I think of Star wars swordsman I see Jedi. Jedi is the melee of the future and now if your a melee kndof guy then just go jedi. Hope this very big gamble pays off because it is very risky indeed.
