Beating a fencer is a piece of cake!


You just need:


to migrate fully to mind in order of priority mind/focus/willpower (regneration is worth nothing in a duel)


Thatikillo with at least 90 points of knockdown defense


Initmidation enhancing bio clothing (to get above the fencers intimidate defense, intimidate 2 applys every time with additional mod of 25 due bio enhanced clothing)


use intimidate1 (risky) or better intimdate 2


Hit a mind bleed


and


scalp slam them down


Note that the Scythe is better in almost every case. Since master fencers have melee damage mitigation 3 and the speed of the Scythe is absolutyl superior. You will get a lot higher damage output with your Scythe and it has better range modifiers which is very important against high defense enemys!


Explanation:


Intimidate2 reduces their damage output by 50 % and decreases their secondary defenses by 50 %. So you wont miss the fencer anymore. If you still miss him get some citrus snow cake for some additional accuracy.


Their damage output shouldnt be high anyway. Since acklay and uber stun battons have a high damage range and will most likely result in damage from 20-50.


PREPARATION is everything. The most prepared wins. You have to know the game to prepare yourself. Everything you need to have is knowledge of this game.


I myself think, by the way, that player versus player combat is quite unchallenging and too repeatitive. At least in the form of duels. I consider challenging another human by playing games like Battlefield 1942 much more interesting and more balanced. (count Battlefield Vietnam out)

Yeah, I know the Geo Stun Pistol is around, but I don't think enough people have reworked their templates to see if it's as influentual as the Jawa in PvP - I'm guessing it will be once more people have them

+ fencers got a lot more dot weapons then swordsman do

Maybe it's just me but I thought Swordsman would have more defense mods like melee defense and ranged defense, while Fencer had more dodge then defenses.

i am a master swordsman and my brother is a master fencer and i cannot beat him at all

he has master brawler and all he has to do is dizzy/blind/int2 and KD me and im toast. he just beats on me till im dead while im laying on the ground. and once i get up im dizzy/kd/in2 again


im sure if i was totally prepared with anti-kd food and such i could beat him, but with just full 9-stat buffs its pretty much impossible


i have maxed melee/ranged def too and 110 counterattck, but if i check the combat tab, most of my hits miss

Well, Ive had mixed experiences with fencers. Ive fought 2 without armor, and beaten them. But then again, Ive fought one and they have an uber acklay stun baton and I got my ass handed to me. Im MHS, 4440 fencer, 4304 TKA and Master Brawler. If I can get an intimidate on them I can usually beat them down, but if they put me on my back before I can intimidate Im usually toast. Thats all I have to say about that.....

Yes it true fencers will have the upper hand. However, as its been said psg's, stun armor and synthsteak are all a step in the write direction. But what will really count, moreso than synthsteak imo is citros sanos. On my server its +40 to accuracy. Allowing one to hit the fencers. Also dont forget invest in sea's as well, +25 to two hand accuracy, speed and +15 to counterattack if you dont have carbines. Master Brawler is an almost must imo.

I was thinking of a template really close to this, post hologrind.


Can you tell me how bad the lack of ranged mitigation hurts you? With the rampant rifleman, I wasn't sure how viable this would be.

Frankly, riflemen are a pain in the ass, I usually let my ranged friends start the fight and I burst in and end it for them

Fencers are a peace of cake!


I got of course the pistol techniques tree. My dizzy defense is high enough to stand up even while being dizzyed. But thats mostly doesnt even has to kick in because my knockdown and posture change defense is soo high that they almost never manage to get me posture chagned or knocked down before their dizzy expires. Plus the time they are wasting on that cheap technique is valuable round time which they wont hit my mind pool.


If you have just a heavy swordsman against a master fencers, without additional skills. Then i would bet on the fencer. But if you build up a nice template with heavy swordsman as core. Then the fencer is in clear disadvantage. Because you can easyly build up equal defenses but you will be able to deal out a lot more damage. And yes i have been attacked by a max damage 200 acklay stun batton and even without stun armor it just ended up around 20 points of damage (the fencer was intimidated).


Its all about preparation.


And i said regneration is worth nothing because you focus is more important than willpower. The drain you will suffer by a low focus negates the benefit of high willpower.


Of course regneration is handy. But the drain rate attributes are much more important!
