Thread: Swordsman rocks in PvP
Just reading the post about terrorizing coronet. I had to smile that sounded like alot of fun.
If many people end up joining this proffesion because the holo told them too. I am afraid this could become the flavor of the month proffesion. Its just so much fun and so versitile a proffesion the people that dicovered this from the beggining I envy you and if I just didnt like blowing things up so much I would never leave the proffesion.
I pvp alot and I must say that we are extremely powerful. I'd say that my kill/death ratio is at least 15-1. Buffed (also master doc) and in full composite I don't go down. The heavy headhits and mind bleeds rip people apart. Commandos are one hit incapped every so often. What kills me is the dizzy/kd combo when I can't get up for a minute, that and master riflemen spamming headshots at 1 per sec from whatever distance. Just don't pick your figths out in the open.

Can I ask how much PvP actually occurs inside of a building? 95% of the PvP action I've seen taking place is out in the open, in the town square, in the PvP battlefields, out in the wilds... What do you do, just hang out by the ticket terminals all day?
I keep seeing people talking about how ell we do in PvP, but from everything I've seen, meleers get dropped6 seconds after the shooting starts.
Question are you calling PvP when you attack one person or when a group attacks a group.
1 on 1 is a duel and I agree whole heartedly swordsman get owned in duels.
Group attacks against players is what I call PvP and with smart tactics and a good group the swordsman rocks.
I wear full armor in PVP and usually buffed, the people that kill me are the spamming flames from commandos, thats pretty much it.. Pets cant hurt me, most of the PVP pets have low resist to Blast..
TKM's are fun to kill, Mind bleed them while your KD'ed.. They will go meditate, you stand up, hit em in head.. Dead...
i solo PvP with my swordsman.
Just dont show them from the start that you are a swordsman/melee. Run around with no Title and a Rifle in your hands and when the fight starts they dont care if you get close because, hey , you are using a Rifle!!.
When you get close, use your Mind Bleed/equip/unequip Hammer/equip Sword/HeadHit3 Macro and he is done before he knows what just happened. If he survives the first strike and Runs, you may want to use /follow and Burstrun with HeadHit3 Spam. Only times i lost with this strategy was to a TKA master with his Dizzy/Kd kombo and even there hes was close to getting incapped due to the mind bleed.
kill death ratio is 15/1. sorry but no.
mine isnt that good and i would put money on it that i would rip you a new one. a smart bh/carbineer/pistoleer/smuggler would just knock you down as soon as they saw you. ive seen ppl run into buildings to wait on ppl to come in and engage them, and the rest just leave em alone till they come out and die in a few seconds. if any of the above mentioned professions walked into that building, that guy was going down. maybe its because ppl pay attention to the RADAR, and KNOW EXACTLY were you are. they just kd you and spam their best move, or run back outside. to tell ya the truth ive only seen this done right once, when the guy burst ran into moenia from behind the cloning center and into the med facility, into the elevator, and hid out on the second floor.
i was the one who killed him.
The last time I tried PvP was with a raid on Anchorhead, I'd say somewhere around 10 overt rebels at the start, which easily elevated to 20-30 rebels.... Even so, I got at least 40 kills to my 4 deaths (two of which were from rancors), I was mainly able to 1 hit everyone with a well sliced powerhammer and headhit3, no more than 2 hits that whole time, and all I was wearing was a 35% Composite Chest Plate, unbuffed as well.
Maybe this isn't so in all cases, but Swordsmen seem to do a lot better when large groups are fighting, as we can move through the enemy and hack them without much attention.
only they are going to change bleeds
