Ok, I remastered TKA this weekend, and ran more tests.. Swords just do not cut it at all..
For tests, I used a 688dmg Powerhammer, and a 337dmg 2h Curved Sword. For TKA I used a 170dmg VK.
Basically with 2handedHeadHit3 I was doing like 100-200ish dmg per hit on someone wearing a 42% composite helmet and them planted on the ground with KD+Dizzy.
In contrast, with TKA's unarmedHeadHit1 (Nexu Grin), I was doing a consistant 450-650dmg per hit. Thats using a LOW END VK head hit style!

As you can see from the shot, almost ZERO dmg variance in TKA using the lowest level head style they get. Thats also using 170dmg VK's, I have a pair of 247dmg VK's which were not using in this test. What you can see here, is that the +250 unarmed dmg TKAs get, add to both BASE and MAX dmg of VK's. So essentially, a 52-170 pair of VKs is actually 302-420dmg weapon, leaving almost no variance to dmg.
Swordsmen get no such luxury, with the massive dmg variance, and the apparent lack of properly functioning AP, it really stinks being a swordsman and trying to PvP, it really does. Mind DoT takes too long to apply and tick, most fights are over before it takes action anyway, so why bother?
NOW, add to this, two handed accuracy mod at master is only +135 2h Accuracy. TKA at master is +210 accuracy. So if someone blinds you, and has really good melee defense, plan on not hitting them with a sword yet TKA would completely ignore it.
The odds are completely stacked against a Swordsmen in PvP. A melee class that should be doing the best dmg in the game, actually ends up doing one of the worst damage and is outclasses in every way by TKA's. I've never, ever, seen a swordsman beat a fencer or tka on my server, ever.... Bleeds or otherwise, usually the sword guy is dead before the bleeds even tick.
I think a few things need to be immediately looked at by SOE...
1) Swordsmen should get 2handed dmg bonus modifiers, like TKA.
2) AP (Armor Piercing) in PvP needs to be looked at, a medium AP sword does less than a Light AP weapon for some rediculous reason. Medium AP weapon should get a fairly considerable boost in dmg if used on light armor or naked.
3) Style delays and HAM costs should be examined, both are grossly too high.
I'm saddened by how bad Master Swordsmen has turned out for me. I desperately wanted to do something other than be a TKA like everyone else, but doing that, would mean I cannot compete in PvP whatsoever. Sure they are good in PvE, but honestly, TKA is still far better in PvE, and PvP is what counts for me anyway, after the grind, thats all I will do.
So what are we going to do?
Look in the middle of the combat log, you'll see I scalp slam him 3 times for 109-192 damage. This is a special I hit in Pve for 2000-5000 damage! what's up with that?
I Haven't noticed it against other classes, just Teras Kasi, so maybe its their unamred toughness mod. In any case it seems a bit extreme.
Since we have crap for defense and variety of specials, our only advantage is high damage output, but if that's not working right what do we have?

Sorry, I don't why html always dissapears in my posts.
Forget trying to kill a fencer as a Swordsmen. You'll be lucky to hit a master fencer ONCE... Problem is, the sword accuracy mods are far too low to get through a fencers defense.
Sux really. =/
I beat our blademaster all the time. The fencer you're fighting ISN'T just a fencer, if you look around the forums, you KNOW that. o.o
The issue with TKA is that their fists aren't effected much by mitigation. Something I'm SURE will be changed.
I guess I should get some major Kudos.....Im not even master yet and there isnt a Master Tka I have not beaten! My strategy? Warcry 2/Unarmed Dizzy/2 Handed Lunge 2/Mindbleeds/Sit back and laugh!
Btw im a Master Brawler Tka 1/1/1/2 Swordsman 1/4/2/4 Other skills are in smuggler and pistoler but gonna be dropped soon anyways.
About the topics discussion....For a very long time i DESPISED TeraKasi Artists. Everything about them reaked of superiority and 1337ness. The meditate line....the dmg bonuses.....the head body action hits...the speed/accuracy Everything. But alas my Holocron told me Terakasi artist. Here are a few things I have discovered so far: Vibro's ham costs are EXTREMELY high. As a wookiee my secondarys are naturally high up there. My strength is around 700 and my focus is about 500 not to sure about quickness dropped most since im not a pistoler anymore.
But anyways if you watch the average TeraKasi Master none of them use Vibro's. Why you ask? Because the ham costs are simply attorcious. This is the kicker what do you think the dmg on bare hands is? 0 you have to factor in the Unarmed dmg bonus. So basically fighting unarmed at master is having a base and a max attack of 250 kinetic. This is not much when you think about it. Most of the people who are complaining about Tka dont realize that the high dmg attacks you see are Hit 3's Unarmed Hit 3's on a Kd opponent. If you dont understand the difference here between recieving a Hit 3 while standing or a Hit 3 while Kd'ed im sorry but you shouldnt be arguing on these forums.
Lastly I enjoy Swordsman very much. Low and behold despite all of the great perks about being a Tkm once I hit master im dropping all except Meditate and Precision Striking. Swordsman will still be my one and only and I hope we soon get the loving that Tka has. Nothing is wrong with Tka in fact we should hope to emulate them in order to keep class balancing fair. As of right now our dmg output can be considerd low but keep in mind the Combat rebalance should be done in a couple of weeks and when thats done we can speculate as to the Devs master plan.
i killed a TKA 3443 yesterday, in PVP your not suppose to do the same damage. its greatly reduced.
a master swordsman with ubese can kill a tkm with armor any day of the week if they know what there doing. most TKM kd/dizzy and unarmed 3 spam. if you pay attention and use tactics like CoB warcry/intimidate bleeds you will barely have to hit them with a head hit. just remember, we can attack at -8m away while they can only attack ~3m take this into consideration and you will rarely lose.
