grumbles about how the computer screwed up... grrrr

but as i was saying, i just got expert techniques yesterday, and using 2h head hit 3, i can do almost 4k damage to snorbal's which have 40% blast effectiveness.

one thing i always wondered about is how can a swordsman, or any melee class, or any ranged class possibly miss hitting something the size of a fambaa. or even a snorbal. in my case i can attack a fambaa, and miss all too often. i was wondering how missing that thing is possible. i can understand hitting it not as hard as you normally would because of a bad swing of the weapon, but actuaually missing a thing that is 10 to 20 times the size of you?

I was thinking that maybe there is a reason they are not fixing the hitting while moving. I dont know, but I really think that this is a step in the right direction and gives me hope that our class will have a purpose after all. Time will tell I guess.

HALLELUJAH HALLELUJAH HALLELUJAH

sorry if i butchered the word hallelujah (or however u spell it) but seriously, thank god.

finally, hitting while moving. finally we will be tough. finally the pure meleers can compete without using spice and buffs. finally we will have new weapons, hopefully with different effects, such as electricity and heat, for example.

finally

Some more posting by Dan:

Pikemen:I’m aware of the problems your class is having. Until I finish redefining the new melee baseline I won’t be able to offer a full list of changes I’m going to apply to your class, but rest assured I will work until I feel I have brought your class in line with the rest of the more popular professions.

Swordsman: Same as the Pikemen.

Sounds interesting...but somewhere inside me there is also an alarm bell ringing. This sounds a bit like a total revamp. I agree that there needs to be changed something with our 5 attacks, and some fine-tuning here and there is certainly needed, but at the same time i also like how our class is now..also in regard to others.

On a side note i would be interested to see what your thoughts are about the fact that one and the same person seems to at least supervise all melee classes....but then i also don't know anything about game designer companies inner structures and/or quantities of designers needed for a certain segment.

This just sounds like more fancy talk that'll take ages to come around. Anyone remember the ranger correspondant feedback, with tracking, the new traps, and the new camps? Well we still dont have that.

As far as I'm concerned, I have plenty of time to get bored out of this game by the time the skillsets I picked for my character are made viable, let alone FUN. Thats something that'll probably take a while to implement... FUN!

"SWG v9582.12129 notes, september 21st, 2004:

-new feature: fun. After much debate with the higher ups, we decided to implement "fun" into the game. What this means is that you now have a reason for logging on when you do, instead of feeling you have to put the 20$ per month you give us to good use. N.B.: This is a highly experimental feature and we may remove it yet due to its nebulous nature."
