My current plan:

  • Master Swordsman

  • Master Creature Handler

  • Novice Medic 4,3,0,0 (I buy super Stim B's from a Master Doctor that heal as much as Stim D's made by a Master Medic)

  • Novice Scout 4,4,4,0 (trapping 4 gives you adhesive mesh)

Unused Skill Points = 0

coo evry1, and pecos, hehe, i almost used to have the exact same template, only ur r a higher swordsman and rifleman than i was, but i had some medic, i c that ur willin to just use ur pet and rifle in pvp, and thats an awesome temp for pvp if u wanna use a rifle, but i really really wanted to cut ppl up with a sword and hammer. pecos u said u wont have a good win ratio if u dont have eyeshot or a good creature to help u out in pvp, i would hav to disagree

with any ranged knockdown (and if ur a master brawler i guess lunge 2 could work nicely also), even if ur enemy is running away, u can land a swordsman mind bleed on them, and if ur charging them in the first place u can get 2 or even 3 hits in if ur lucky. im a middle ranged swordsman right now (2-2-2-2)but i got charge shot and have won the past 8 or 9 (cant remember exact) 1 on 1 encounters i have gotten into, and once with a ch, who was usin 2 greater sludge panthers, and also a couple of bh's. i just gotta make sure i get the knockdown and the bleed off early in the fight, and so far ive won every duel. now in battles ive been owned a couple of times when a lot of fire is focused on me, and sometimes have been jumped by ppl with at sts, and i do know some1 is gonna own in 1on 1 too, and i know its gonna be soon, but u still gotta admit its a good record.

as a pure swordsman my win ratio was like 3:5, but that was pre kd patch, and i wasnt as good a swordsman either. thx for ur alls input so far, interesting templates too

o and chrysahor, hank u very much, that would suck if i was makin some sweet buffs and then found out i couldnt use em

I am facing this very problem. I know I want Master Swordsman hands down. I love getting into the thick of a fight and going toe to toe. I have narrowed the second skill tree to either Master Doctor or Master CH. The heals and buffs of doctor would be sweet, but my primary is a Master WeaponSmith and I have enough of resource hunting and crafting to keep me happy. With Master CH I have a personal little army to fight along my side, and the movement bonuses of exploration are nice to have too. I don't PvP (yet, that may change) and I am in a group with guildmates for about 50% of my hunting time. We have both CH's and Doctors so It's not like I am going to fill a needed slot. So, do I want big heals and Buffs? Or do I want Pets to help me tank and kill?

CHs are not that great. A Rancor pet is basically a joke. The real danger is still the player. If you take out the CH, the Rancor goes down easy. It's just like an extra DOT or a distraction. Pets simply cannot damage you fast enough to be a serious threat to a master level melee (ranged is different because if they get in melee they are screwed).

Well, I am doing swordsman/rifleman. This seems to be a great solo combo. You can headshot and if the target (npc, creature) survives then they will run straight to you. At this point you switch to melee and head swing to finish them off.

Weaponsmith.

Rest will either go into novice scout/medic with a few add-ons or it will more likely go into master brawler.

Three reasons:

a) Test Center is in dire need of weaponsmiths.
b) I want to be able to test any new changes that come out immediately. This means that I will have to be a strong swordsman AND I will have to be able to test out any changes to our weapons or any new weapons. On test center the only surefire way to get something is to make it yourself.
c) I like the idea. I used to think that I had to completely max out my combat abilities but that got tired. I know I won't be maxed out and that just adds more challenge to it.
