In short, from my experience most Battle Armors have the same potential and stats vary primarily based on how the AS constructs your armor (layers, slicing, enhancers, etc). The only exeception I have seen at this point is RIS with very high condition.

To answer Dano's first question...faction armor is simply cosmetic and offers no benefit beyond other types of armor in the same class.

As for the Doc / Swordsman, you can wear any armor certified to any profession you have. Doc and Swords are both certified to only Battle armor....so bascially limitations are those listed earlier in this thread.

Malia, you asked what is the best type to wear. So far it seems to me that there is no best type of Battle Armor but instead the best suit is one made with multi-layers, enhancers, and a nice slice. Since your here in the Swords forum asking about Armor I am assuming your BF has ditched the AS prof (or you've ditched him ). Since your Malia, you probly know tons of AS on our server but one that stands out as exceptional is QOHELITH. He's been AS for at least a year and makes only the best stuff. He has made some great post-CU suits and is very friendly and would probably love to help you out with detailed AS questions. As with us he plays nite-owl west-coast hours.

BTW Malia....since your obvioulsy giving up chef for the best combat prof...and pairing it with your TKM...for your reference TKM Innate Armor is equivalent to 6000 armor stats across the board.
