Skill does matter as he won't offer me the quest instead he says, "The task I have seems beyond your capabilities. Come back when you are a bit stronger.".

When I did the quest, I was 4-4-4-4 in an elite combat class. I was told that this task is a bit beyond my skill, but I could take it if I wanted to.

Make sure to have your strongest weaponin your hand when you ask for the quest.So iv heard anyway havent none it myself.

I did it when I was master swordsman, and he still said I was too weak - go figure lol

i heard from a couple of people you have to be at least level 4 in a box of an elite combat profession...

so 0/0/4/0 pistoleer for example, 4/0/0/0 pike and so on.

last poster, make sure you had your sword equipped when you talked to him, otherwise he'll think you were a 0 level brawler.
