btw, after the big patch there is no more 40 k mission.

so whats scarier?Blip on booze or a swordsman with to grauls?

Pets are great ... they speed things up all around, let ya grind missions non-stop, I won't argue that.

That said, the biggest pet in the world ain't gonna help you one iota when your armorless self gets unexpected aggro off something dangerous (and if it was rolled in a mission, it's not dangerous - tho I spose some of 'em are to unarmored folks, lol).

And as to the person saying armor is such a drag ... hrm, obviously you've never gotten doc buffs. Yeah, armor sounds heavy to someone withoutbuffs ... but 500sh encumberance on 1500+ secondary stats isn't slowing me down in the least When I pop the muon gold *all* of my stats are over 1k ... in full, unliced composite ... so my specials are probably costing me less than they cost you...

If you want to be a damage dealer, by all means, lose the armor and find a pet. Butyou definitely aren't a tank then....

Hmmm... After all this heated discussion on the best way to tank, I beleive there is only one clear choice. Swordsman need a special move to turn themselves into a Graul Mauler. Then with full armor, doctor buffs, booze and drugs (man I love me the booze n' spice) you will be the ultimate tanx. And who doesn't whant to be a tanx? ...Lol.

All this talk has made me remember why I chose MCH first: Pets are the best armor. Yes, you can doc buff up and you can get loaded on booze and spice, but it will run out. And normally Mr. Murphy decides when it does. I use TS's for non stop specials. It's great. My wife (RL wife that is) is a Master Doctor and I love her for her buffs. But, my Toxic Battlelord and Kliknik Defender are where it's at. The poison, blind, intimidate are really nice for tanking. I only have intim1 and the KDs lasts longer.

All that being said, it's all about what you are comfortable with. I am 0423 right now and will probably master Swordsman. I like the damage my sliced hammer can generate and my pets keep the mobs off me. I also have a Kinetic set of Ubuse(sp) armor. With intimidate and my armor I can tank what ever I need to, but I tend PC them and let the pet engage. Like I said,it's all about style of play. Pick the one you like and press on.

Master Swordsman, Master Brawler and Master TKA. Advanced Fencing Stances and Grips. That leaves me with about 130 Melee Defenses and 110 Ranged Defenses, 110 Counter Attack, mixed with 70% Advanced Kinetic Resist Ubese I can tank just about any single creature for quite some time. (Also Novice Medic for Stim Bs.)

Doctor buffs, COB and a pet. Basically either pick up doctor as a profession or CH, to enhance your tanking/solo skills. I know it's not exactly what you might want to hear, or maybe not even what you want to do with your character, But as a wookie you need to play a bit differently. I've never played a wookie, so you may want another wookie opinion on that.

I know it all comes down to style. But all I know is I have never been in afight wear the pet didn't run all around, or the MOB it was hitting wasn't runnin all around. That annoys the mess outa me. Just a personal thought.

I was tinkering around in different professions trying to find what I liked, I've finally settled on master swordsman - mainly because the rave/bitch ratio is like 9/1 in here. Keep it up guys.

BTW. I just got a set of 72% Adv Ubese kinetic armor.. that stuff rocks. Plus it looks like a kung-fu gi .... I'm a samurai!

I think my only complaint so far is that you hold the powerhammer at the end in one hand.. I knew we were strong but that things gotta weigh like 40lb. I'd also love to see some better stances with the curved sword.. I'm tired of cutting through my leg when sitting down. It's great that the only real complaints I can find are with the animations. :-)
