Thread: Combat Upgrade Anyone know where Swordsman stand

Doc, Shipwright and Merchant, although there were a couple of others (GCW recently?) that I can't think of.

'course...it's late, and I could just be imagining things.



If a poisonous snake is dropped on top of you from a gyrocopter, don’t freak out and shoot your own driver with your arrow gun, making the vehicle lose control and blow up. Its probably just as scared as you are.

So Alpha hasn't even started, and we're 46 days until when it's supposed to launch on the quoted day of May 5th?

So when we signed up for CURB betatesting, is that now invalid? Because I can't see a complete reinvention of this game even being NEAR ready in a titch under two months, ESPECIALLY now that I learn that Alpha hasn't started yet.

after CU sword = Brawler + 1handet 4 boxes + 2h 4 boxes + swordsman.

well you need 4 boxes more.


most of us are MB too, so it dont intressted me also.

the most thing who make me angry is " 6m weapon range for brawler".

ok we are the tanks and this is a little bit ok, but when the armor get a certification,

i hope we can wear a compo or a new armor with good stats.


a tank with a ubese armor is a dead tank in most high level hunt like ns, dwb, corvette

GCW .....


well, we will see whats goning on next week. dev give some new information about the CU.

let us hope that will be good news.

I agree that14 more spwon't be much of the problem as most swordsman are MB or have some fencer lines for defence anyway. On the other hand think how it felt for all professions that needed master starting proff. as a prerequisite for elite. Also if they remove defence stacking we'll all have lot of free sp to spend

6m could be tricky but on the other hand with new system movement will disrupt some of the specials so ranged profs hopefully wont be able to kite much


Also, they said most effective at 6m range, not that it is the max range so I presume we'll be able to hit at greater range but with some penalties.


I don't think there will be problems with armour certs at master of elite proff. but hard to say now will different proffs have different armour or will we all have same ones but get certs at different stages of our advancement in skill. They said though that there will be 3 types of armour with bonus to kinetic, bonus to energy and neutral so we should be able to find proper one for proper enemy.

Overall I think the changes are great especilly the one about raising health to 3k for masters and buffs adding only 10% or 20% to that. This means no more boring waits at coro. You log in and go straight to action. This is great for jedis and people who want to be overt and not being ganked while unbuffed.

i'm just wondering where our current weapons will stand after the revamp. I'd hate to buy at 900+ weapon and poof.. its down to 500 or even less after CU

I'm swords/ranger though, so having to master scout as well as ranger leaves me with far fewer skill points.

Now that you mentioned ranger I checked and there is no mention on ranger prerequisites atm. Funny since they put 2x4 boxes prerequisites for all. Think it should be same for ranger. If they do it for ranger too, you'll have 14 more sp, not 14 less. Go fight for your rights on development forum

well ranger is a starnge profession to touch on since all the skills in ranger are skill in scout but beefed up a bit and you can track people. what i would like to see for ranger is that they lower the skill points required to get it.


also about the combat range now it will be max range 64 for everyone

no where does it say that melee wont be able to hit anything at anything above 6m but this is where our most efficent range will be. lunge attack will most likely still at 10-15m or so. and defult attack will probably be higher. all depends on what will happen.

also alot of people are dropping swordmen because they were just loot hunters and with the up and coming changes they see that they will not be able to solo everything under the sun any more so they are leaving the profession.


also i have been a master swordman from the begining and no matter what they do to this profession i will never leave it. i have never and will never drop a swordman skill .

So, are we simply required to get 1h/4 to stay Master Swordsman? Are we gonna have to remaster? How's this gonna work?

As I understood it, if you don't meet new requirements you will be given an option to rearrange your current SP meaning droping something else and putting it in 1H line without the need to grind that line.
