Thread: New Brawler move and More

I just created a character on the test center to check out the new melee tanking ability (I didn't get a chance to test it in combat since the server kept dying, and I couldn't find a heavy axe) But I noticed a few things.

1) The move is called "Center of Being" and every profession gets bonuses to it for *the weapon that the profession is based around*. So you can't master swordsman, and master fencer, and expect it all to stack up.

2) The move draws mainly from the mind pool, which is good, in my opnion. The unhealable pool should be the one that a move, which supposedly makes us invulnerable, draws from.

Maybe if the server stays up longer than a few minutes, and I find a heavy axe, I'll be able to tinker around with it some more.

Ok look at this thread from the TKA forum:

TKAs get a new passive defense called "defense acuity" which acts like counterattack/dodge/block and they get 195 points of it? **edit**!

Are they trying to make everyone go TKA and abandon swordsman, pikeman and fencer?

Well, it's working. I am already dipping into the TKA line for meditate, as I am sick of coming back after an hour of fighting with 800 wounds on me.I can easily just abandon swords for TKA entirely, but I don't want to do that. I cannot see how they can justify such high defenses for TKA when it costs the exact same skill points as the other three melee skilltrees.

Everytime I see the other melee get something, they go and give TKA that and more. If that is the case the TKA will dodge/counterattack/block more than their class counterparts then, right? I dunno, but I need to grind up in swordsman to test out this stuff out.

This has been happening for a while. Even without the changes on test, tkas are still leaps and bounds ahead of the other melee professions.

TKMs can do a ton of damage per second, but I think alotof that comes from landing a KD on their opponent and hitting them while down. What happens when their enemy resists KD, oragainst something with good armor and resists? That's where we shine, we have a powerhammer with AP2 blast damage, two mind bleeds, and really strong head hits.We can even mind bleed and then kite! Who ever heard of a melee kiting? But we can do that.

TK Master will rarely if ever miss a KD.. they are like the bounty hunters of Melee.. I hate how the devs do this. Focus on Uber classes, and throw crumbs to the "Under" classes. Fencer gets tons more defenses than we do.

Fencer # Pistoleer

Swordsman # Rifleman

Pikemen # Carbineer

Ok I should have said,I'm talkingabout our ability in pve. I don't pvp,so I don't have much to say about that area, exceptI have seen how their KDs own.And alsoI dont think we have anything in our arsenalthat comes close to thedamage per second they do with thatcute gyrating attack on a KD enemy.

As the original poster wrote, they are moving up the defensive modifiers to be more in range with the offensive modifiers, such as accuracy. This means that the KD moves wil miss more often now, and hopefully this will lead to alot more interesting fights in general.
