Thread: How to beat a TKA in a duel
A skilled gunfighter should always be able to beat a melee fighter in a duel. (run and gun)
A skilled swordsman should always be able to beat an unarmed man.
Lastly, unarmed combat should be for roleplaying and fighting NPCs.
Instead, we have it where not only can a skilled gunfighter bleed you and run but you can't go toe to toe with a guy who doesn't even have a weapon.
Mind you, im a rifleman/swordsman. So it doesnt bug me much, head shot and head hit.
I don't know what TKA's you guys have been fighting, but unless they intimidate me or warcry me, I will not lose. Its a given, that you need to attack the mind... Honor? In battle there is no such thing as honor. I will agree with some of you, that I will not run in a fight, but I will attack enemies weakness. Personally, when I fight any melee character, I look to see what they are weakest in... which should be what you all do before any fight. If in mind... mind bleed, and head hit... etc. If in any other stat (which is usually not the case with a melee) then I work on getting a dizzy first, along with a mind bleed. Once the dizzy is applied I then lower the posture and move away so they have to move forward to get to me, insuring thatthe dizzy works. At that point, its over. There should be no reason a TKA beats a Swordsman. Most TKA's don't have really any mind, so beat the crap out of it. If anything, each match should end in a draw, because once that mind bleed is applied, lol, its over anyway.
Oh, and a note to those who did not know... Mind bleed is stackable. Use mind bleed 1 and 2 and that fight always ends pretty much after the first bleed effect.
I guess I'm just lucky.
I fought several Master Teras Kasi Artists this weekend and never did I die from them alone attacking me, and I killed them several times.
This one tried to repeatedly knock me down but fortunately combat equillibrium kicked in and I was automatically back on my feet (still dizzy but mobile) to kill her in four cuts.
I'm only Master Swords/Master Doc so my resists are for the swords class and my race (zabrak) but if you have trouble with knockdown or dizzy and have the points I'd suggest investing in the fencing Footwork line or another defensive line from one of the other brawler elite classes. Defenses DO work now, and rather well. UKD2 is not the be all end all of combat, especially if you have the armor and defenses to survive the damage while you're on the ground if you can't get up fast.
