Thread: THUNDERHEART: What about Swordsman, Fencer, and Pikeman?
Duh, melee = close, range = far. Why some people don't get this I don't know.
Takes two to fly a kite, kiddo.

all of you TKA whiners seem to forget one thing.
This was one of the TKA's top 5 issues. If YOU would have taken the time to make it one of YOUR top 5 issues then maybe TH would have given YOUa response to the issue of kiting like he did the TKA's.
I'm master swords / master carbineer. Even if I was master swords I'd say the same thing. Melee = close / ranged = far. Don't let yourself be kited if you have no ranged. It's dumb.

IMO, the 'swords are close, guns are ranged' people have something approaching a point (and I am working Swordsman and Rifleman pretty equally).... but answer me this:
Take two professional sprinters, with pretty similar PBs.
One has to run 100m carrying a sword (or axe, or other big nasty stick thing)
The other has to run 100m looking over their shoulder, aiming and firing at someone chasing them.
If you wanna bet on the shooter, go ahead - but I know who my money's on, and it might be nice to see that reflected in the running speeds of people in those situations. In the real world, kiting would not be possible - you'd be closed down and killed, EOF.
In the meantime, back to grinding the pistol skills I never thought I'd need... ![]()
