Thread: Master Sword / ?

Just returning to this game, and I'm primarily a PvE player so i'm looking for some good templates. Right now my char is a novice BH, and from what I hear they aren't that hot in PvE. So i'm going to be untraining and going Master swordsman/ ???.


Is there anything in scout trees that I need or that would be useful, or shouldI dropthat also?


I'd like to be able to heal myself, and my wounds so a little medic has to be thrown in.


Please post your expierence/templates, i'm just looking for a little help, because i'm lost lol

heres my temp


Master medic / doc / swords, 0 0 1 0 scout i keep scout to sell meat hide (25 k leather hide on lok in 3, 3 hr days


i suck on hills, but i fear no GDK disease, no poisons, there are very few things i cant kill by my self. Spidersister web weavers, the gold padded corvett stromtroopers.


not the best temp for pvp, but im self sufficient in the field , buffs wounds (except mind and bf) dis and poisions. 800 power health stims (hunting on lok i can go a week and only use 1 or 2 of these)


hope that helps also if im ever in a crunch for money doc is a easy way to make cash quick

The template really depends on what you want to do.

If you want to hunt big things, like krayts or NS elders, or do hard missions like the corvette, I'd say add rifleman and get novice medic (my current template). Don't get me wrong, Swordsman is great for these things too, but with the heavy armourpiercing, few professions can compete with rifleman against the likes of krayts.

If you want to have a melee tank, start stacking up on def bonuses and add some knockdown skills (TK/ some Fencer, maybe some pistoleer skills).

If you are happy with swordsman being your combat profession, add doctor.

My opinions anyways

I can add that I'm not sure what to do with my remaining points either (I'm building a PVE character).
I am currently Master Swordsman / Master Rifleman / Novice Medic ... trying to decide wether I should get fencer 4/4/0/0 or Master Brawler.

I'd like to be able to take down the biggest mobs in the game at some point, that always sounds fun. Also, dungeon crawling has always been something that i like to do so i'd say yes to both of them.

rifle is ok but not for placed like corvett, being you need to be 55+ m to hit accuratly. i was up on corvett this weekend, my group left me at the load in (takes me forever to load) so i ran aound solo up there while they did the missions, i had no problem with the straight black troopers, the pink striped one took a min long, and the reguler battle droids took about the same. only prob i had was when i hit one of the black stormys with the gold pad ( 150 k ham armored) ns elders are no problem also.


Member pve is mostly about your armor. I have 77% kine ube 16% other stats ecpt 3, 1 being stun with a 62% energy 20% to all the rest (but the 3 that psgs dont cover kinetic and 2 others). I also have 80 kin/ene 79 ele, 70 % all others except stun comp for the big things (elders).


If your goin strictly for pve do doc, onhand buffs disease/poison cures and the big heals are a major advantage in pve.


as for you unique master brawler adds the 20 second delay and some def bonuses, but its more of a pvp thing (most things die by a master swords hand in under 20 seconds any way)


for your temp id do tka 4 0 4 0 or(meditate all thoes nast wounds poisons dis bleeding away) and power techs will help alot . I'd only do fencer if i was goin all the way for thoes times i run into stuff thats high kin/blast rifles good but only if you can keep the enemy far away.

I agree that you need a tank when using rifleman skills, but if you are fighting krayts you probably have a bunch of people with you, same thing with the corvette... and NS elders aswell (yeah yeah, I've soloed them too, still easier with more people).

Regarding accuracy, you can drop some citrus snowcake to add a bunch to accuracy (I used that for my whole grind)... with the right food (drink should always be double-shot of brandy) accuracy shouldn't be a problem ... I'm almost speedcapped on HS3 with rifleman, hitting the mindpool for 3 - 4 K damage every second with heavy armour piercing...

Basically, I think that rifleman goes really well with Swordsman because its ranged and attacks mindpool and has heavy armour piercing.. whereas swordsman is melee, has medium armour piercing and attacks the mindpool.

Regarding my template, TK 4/0/4/0 might not be a bad idea ... never thought of actually getting TK skills.. but getting the meditation tree and adding some status affecting attacks sounds cool.. might just give that a try ... thanks for the tip

Before i go and untrain all of these skills, there's no way to get back xp gained right? The combat xp would be useful that i grinded out to bountyhunter lol ;P

cap on all be4 you drop then dont pick up that weapon again, you wont lose combat xp but carb and such will go poof. if your a master bh should take long to get combat xp up. it helps alot if you can start out @ 0 0 0 2 sword.

ok in case you ever wanna go back to Bh kill a bunch of stuff. your xp cap is usually 2x the top level. i.e. im caped on 2h xp 900 k and combat @ 300k. its alot easier to get combat xp at a master profession then trying to grind it all out wile grinding the new prof. member for ever 1000 2h xp you get 100 combat so 100 k combat is 1 mill regular xp


consdiering you need what is it 200 k or so ( i cant member) for that top box thats 2 mill 2h xp thats a whole lotta killin

oh and that dont pick up that weapon again thing was incase you wanna go back heres what happend to me on my holo grind.


i mastered tka decided i was gonna go back after i was done grinding so i caped on my ua xp. was out working on rifle one day accidently unepquiped my rifle punched a piket lost 898 000 ua. I then decided i wasent gonna go back to tka lol because that 125k ua to get novi tk is a pain in the arse.

I liked master Swords and Master CH template with medic Pharm IV (allows me to use Stim D's that has been experiments down to 40 medical use).
