Thread: Power Hammer vs. 2 Handed Curved Sword.

Ok guys. I am going to start this profession in a few days and was wondering what the best way to go is?
I currenty hold a 2 handed curved sword with a maxdamage of 270ish and speed 1.6. (Had a nice 40% speed slice on it).
What gives you the best damage per second? Would i be better off getting a hammer or using my sword?
I know the sword has medium armor piercing. Does the hammer have the same? Anyone have some sample stats of a decent hammer?

You will probably want to use the 2H curved until you approach master and the range mods and speed won't affect you as much.
edit: Most PHs on Lowca are around 470 max damage/5.4 speed (unsliced) with around -25 to -35 range mods. Med AP like the 2H curved.

You're welcome. Also, go up the offense or defense tier first, depending on if you have melee damage mitigation already or not. The offense tier area attacks (only 2 and 3 are really good, 1 sucks) will get you a TON of exp.

My primary is a 2handed axe. 167-245 3.5 +16, +16, +16... Practicly always hit. Always over 1000 damage.
Secondary Powerhamer 175-607 5.3 -24, -35, -26...
I also have the "Gwanioin" Battle axe. Forget how its spelled. But its pretty useless to use in pve. Imo.

hmmm, you mean the 2hd vibro axe? or is it some other axe... never used it before, perhaps i should give it a go. i like the slower weapons... then not to eat up my mind that fast...

Ok then it was 35%. its been a few months and I could not remember exactly how much it was. I know it was the most.

Since I see you're on Ahazi just like me, I would suggest you go check out Soar's weaponshop in NEw Roseholme on Naboo. She just started stocking some new power hammers that specialize in accuracy. top out at around 430 damage, with 4.7 speed, and -7 range mods. Not to shabby. specially the one i got speed sliced to 3.7

they are both fairly useless in pvp because of melee mitigation.
the curved has too high of a action cost for the dmg output.
the powerhammer is good at master for doing dungeons and whatnot. ham cost way too high
the cleaver is a good weapon for pvp and leveling
the 2 hand axe is best for pvp

thx, i havent laughed that hard in a while.
pwr hammer all the way in pvp.
pwr hammer's ham cost is no relevence in pvp if you buffed.
who fights pvp unbuffed anyways
