Thread: Nod to the DEV's for the 3 weapons
Not that anyone is going to SHARE those ways....
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for discovering stuff in game... but a hint would be nice.

How about telling us the other two ways, or at the very least a hint. Its only fair since we've had to wait on this weapon for seven months.

The Tatooine scythe quest giver won't give the quest to a weaponsmith I know because "he lacks the skill to complete the quest" or something like that - he has no combat skill. My TKA/Smuggler certainly has the combat skill, but the quest guy won't talk to him....
Is this just a bug? ![]()

Let's look at the math. Say there's 5000 people on a server and 2500 managed to obtain only 1 schematic. The schematic has 3 uses so 3000 weapons can be made from a schematic. 3000 x 2500 = 7 500 000 scythes. I don't you will run out of these anytime soon.
Wrong. The schematic only has 2 uses and requires identical loot only components to make. This means you cant make a factory schematic for more than two. This is based on info from the test center that states the loot only components are looted in sets of 2 or 4.

Actually, you can't do a large manufacturing run of the Scythe. They require loot drop components similar to krayt tissue from the new dungeon so that will limit the uses of each sechamtic to a much lower number.

Thunderheart, this statment seems in error. Perhaps you can help?
If all players can do the Scythe quest from Hedon Istee in Mos Entha, then why does my fiancee's main character, who currently is Master Merchant, Master Artisan, Master Tailor with a tiny bit of pistol, get a message saying something to the effect of "the task I have is beyond your abilities?"
My main character, who is currently 4/1/0/3 rifleman (silent hologrinding
My second account, who is Master Bio Engineer, some Politician, some Fencer, some Marksman, some Artisan, gets the "too weak" message.
My fiancee's second account, who is Master Marksman, some Commando, some Smuggler, gets the "too weak" message.
My guildmate, who is Master Teras Kasi, Master Pistoleer, some Fencer, is able to do the quest.
My friend, who is Pistoleer 4/4/4/3, Bounty Hunter pistol tree 4, and some other misc. skills, can ALSO do this quest. He is not master of anything but Marksman and Scout.
My original theory was that one had to be a master of an elite combat profession (thereby limiting the player base that can do these missions) but since my friend, who is NOT master of an elite profession at ALL can do it, that's obviously not the criteria.
As you can see, out of 4 accounts, none can do this quest. So how can "all players" do this quest? Is it bugged? Is there another issue at hand we're missing? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I realize there are "two other ways" to get this schematic, but I'm really concerned with why this quest in particular doesn't work.

Aaah, thanks for clearing up the schematic on the Scythe. I thought it would work the same as other drops like the Featherweight FWG5 or the Modified Republic Blaster.
Also, for those that cannot do the Scythe quest. I read somewhere on the forums that you have to have Swordsman skills. I don't know if this is a rumor and cannot verify it myself.
