Thread: i rocked as tkm but **** as swords

ok what am i doing wrong i dont get it , went to the geo today and got almost killed at the entrance bt survived then went to the merc room everything went well there untill all of a sudden everything dropped and spwand like crazy had 6 merc on me next this i saw was the cloner (80% resist on arm kin electric 70%base all at +90% codition) while with tkm i could have a go at 5 unarmod and still get away almost unscratched.....
went to look for some NS after killed two low lvl then a spell weaver shows up only 10%kin/blast so i think that it will be fun , take a couple of swings and well u guess it .......... back to the cloner
now i have no idea what i am doing wrong and currently i feel i made a very poor chooise of dropping tkm alltho i know swords is a killer proff
i am a zalbrak i dont know it that has anything to do with it but i really need some advice
my second prof is master doc
now the tkm/doc combo allways worked for me (well not against 100% kin resist of course)
but i am clearly doing something wrong could some1 pls help me out thnx in advance
got a 2.0spd 400dmg scythe
and a 5.5 spd 630dmg PH btw

Are you master swords yet? What you mentioned never happens to a master swordsman/Master Doc.

I'm a master doc master swords and i got raped in the first room at the geo caves. it turns out i was i ran out of stm D's and was healing with B's. But i looked at combat chat thingy and i was being hit for 2400+ damage and w/ 12 crazed geos doing that all at once nobody would last long. they use specials now and hit harder my friend counted 21 spawned at a time it was crazy. i was wearing 30% stun comp armor was buffed 1 muon 2 brady dancer buffsand 3 canape and was incapped 3 times cloned came back for the same thing. i dunno maybe it was bugged last night, but my ham was dropping like mad. what can you do?

Go for M-Brawler...U need it badly as a swordsman....+5 on speed and accuracy along with+5 toughness and Intimidate2/Warcry2...Use it both they are big winners! Allways have CoB running...Go forsome medic skills - will never miss 0040...eat synthisteaks, havin good doc and mindbuffs...vercupti and muon+pixie for emergency case....its all about being prepaired and speed-capped with the equiped weapons....
P.S. As a wookiee i can use wookiee roar...nice con intimidate1....good when amob is around u....

I wish I could help, but I really can't think of what could possibly be happening. I'm Master Swords/Master Doc and the only things that really give me trouble are elders. When I hunt nightsisters, I use 85% comp with 27% stun, full buffs, and two +400 brandies. I carry muon, ahrisa, and canape in case my mind gets too low, and use 1200 stim E's for my health and action.

70% armor? You're not a tka anymore, you don't have massive toughness mods. You've got to wear some better armor. Swordsmen put out huge AP2 damage, but they aren't supposed to be an unarmed and unarmored tank like a TKA. Start playing swordsman like a swordsman and you'll do much better.

Oh yeah, and get a speed sliced hammer down to 3.5-3.8 One using looted geo cores can be much lower in speed, look into it. It's all about DPS with swordsman, and if you check out the calculator stickied at the top of the forum you'll find a speed sliced hammer is almost always better than a dmg hammer until you get to 91-94spd.

Agreed, you have some toughness but not as much as TKM had. Personally i have none of the problems ytou are talking about, even before they put the new wookiee armor out.

I've been master swordsman 3+ months with master brawler in the last month of having swordsman, always stuck with a speed sliced powerhammer (3.7 speed) and damage sliced Rancor-core cleavers and Geo-core curved and NEVER had any problems with practically ANY PVE, I also only had novice medic and scout 4040 at the time being.
My toon being novice commando for the launcher pistol, BH pistols and master smuggler I was able to outdamage 3 melee guys last night (2 TKMs, fencer) on the group of crazed geos using a 420+ dmg launcher pistol and fanshot/lastditch dealing out 3500-3800+ dmg and usually got looting rights, they eventually left- I even manage to fight droidekas and I don't even have medic anymore. So you shouldn't have any probs with the crazed geos if you use AOE spin attacks.
My doctor toon is taking up swordsman, should be even better along with doctor.

i've never, ever been killed at geo even unarmored as a swordsman (unless i was unbuffed, but i got to the acklay room first )
)dunno what you're doing wrong, maybe you're just not used to swordsman.

Umm, I can solo the geo caves, matter of fact... I killed the Acklay about a week ago. All I do is run a CoB macro and go at it. Also, I dont even have to heal unless Im up against Krayts or Elders. So, if you want to be uber, pick up a better template.

No you don't - I am master swords/master doc and I have no trouble with anything i fight, as long as its melee...and im not speed capped or using acklay hammers or anything...you just can't go in and start spamming headhit3, you have to know your enemies.
