i was messing around with my second character possible templates and realised this will be perfect to solo almost anything in teh game
tell me what ya think
master brawler - added toughness + speed
master pikeman - useful for caves and such with its states and area attacks, not to mention DOT's for PvE
master swordsman - very useful vs highend single opponents not to mention awesome mind bleeds
4000 fencer - gives all the melee + ranged defense ill need
2120 medic - heals those nasty bleeds and heal damage

depends what you are fighting, high-end creatures/npcs hit you every time even if you are capped. they have like 10923840923 accuracy and go past your defences like nothing. i would add 4000tka for the meditation or 0300 for the state defences.

I'm still convinced that the ultimate PvE template is Master Sword/Doc and then hit your spd cap and acc cap through tapes. I've been this on my fishy toon for a long time and there's nothing I can't solo PvE, plus it's great to be able to be the Doc that doesn't need protecting in groups. I throw my other SP aroudn between novice scout and novice artisian to harvest resources for making meds, but if you also enjoy PvP, which I don't, you can grab the polearm tree from brawler and use DoT lances. Anyway, my 2 cents worth on the template front.

First: Accuracy has NO CAP....2nd: The +20 Two-Handed-Spd-Tapes costs few mil. creds and are some kind of rare(on my server)...so its hard for a starter to build your template and being nearly spd.capped....and to be honest...imo there is no needs for havin Doc in PvE...Some medic skills should be enough...I killed more than 25 elders since they got there specials back....Never needed more than 0040 or 2000 in medic...Doc is much more value in PvP...Sure its nice in PvE too...but imo its not the ultimate template for PvE...

ACK. TKA mediation helps a lot...PowerBoost is a nice +500 Buff for your HAM...Force of Will can safe your life and cure poison/disease/bleeds and healing wounds on all stats is just great...if u use warcry2 and mediation proper its a good way to cure poison/disease while the battle...

TKM xxx4 <-- increases chance to counter attack
Carbineer tree to cap counter attack
Havent tried it but anyone tried capping counter attack mod?

With this template I have not run across much I cannot solo.. Its a rare moment when I have to run from fightsor call for assistance from a nearby player.
Although, base stats do play an important role no matter your template. I play a human, and my base stats are 400 for the top 6, 1100 Mind, 950 Focus and Willpower.
This makes things very difficult unbuff'd, but seeing as how we do nothing unbuff'd other than basic travel anymore, you can safely put everything into mind and mind regen.

i went the states defence template...
Master Swords
Pistoleer 0040
TKA 0300
Medic 4040
Master Bralwer - may drop soon cuz i dont need the extra speed anymore but im starting to like lunge2 way to much. and could stack some more tka like meditate and 0004.
give like +100 to def vs KD & Dizzy, 70 Posture Down, 80 Stun, 60 Blind, combat equilibrium from tka(number may not be exact but its close). i hunt NS for the most part and well being kd/dizzied in a group of 5 NS will get you whacked so i went the states defence way.

I like my Master Sword/Master Brawler + 0340 Doc. I think to cut down on your deaths you need to be able to get rid of stun and dizzy.Specially in my exp vs NS, there have been times I would've died if I couldnt constantly take of the dizzy's.
Also, nice to be able to self buff. Im not a pvp player so could care less bout getting rid of disease poisen.

Holy Shamoli, I never even though of that. Screw first aid for curing nasty nasty bleeds, that'll be much quicker, and easier on the mind. (fighting elders)

heh thanks for all the replies but i forgot to mention that i want to keep master pikeman included
I didnt know about the melee defense thing, i thot melee defense lowers the damage taken when using a melee weapon, this may change my template

for bleeds you can just get some BE clothing for defense against bleeds
but yeah I myself am currently going for a defense stacked template

as far as medic goes having xx2x or xx4x is a waste of sp. you can use stim c's at xx3x anything less than 3 is a waste, anything more than 3 same thing. i am currently 22xx medic and like that first aid is a must plus it gives u a wee bit of speed in healing. sometimes (like on the vette) i wear my +15 injury/wound treat undershirt for a lil better heals instead of my ubese shirt with da speed. just my take.
