Will this profession affect lightaber skills as a jedi ? or will a jedi probably have its own skill tree with a lightsaber collum of its own completely seperate from 2 handed sword skill tree as a brawler ?

My guess would be no.

A lightsaber blade weighs nothing, so in pratical theory it'd be a completely different feel to swinging a heavy sword.

YES IT WILL ....

In the weapons table that is in the stratagy guide (if you didnt buy this with the game you should have) It lists weapons and stats. A light saber is listed as a 2h melee in other words, 2h sword or swordsmanship skill.

It's got the average damage/minute to at 4333, almost three times the closest 2H weapon. In the upper levels, you may want to find and slay Dark Jedi Adepts and loot their sabers and have a little party. Even if you aren't certified in it, you should still be able to use it with relative effectiveness if you are a Master Swordsman.

Have the potential to open a slot, yes, but you must meet certain and unknown criteria.

A fun time looking for it indeed.

Devs said you could use a lightsaber "inefficiently" If you had the luck to pick one.

That you could not do it in beta does not mean anything. Maybe they didnt wan't even beta players doing that for the moment.

Well, guys,if I'm correct, you will be a step ahead, having the ability to use a two-handed weapon.

Bah, I hope everyone in this profession to be associated with Jedi-Wannabes.

But yeah, I guess if you use 2H weapons you'll have some experience on how to be effective with themif you ever get a FS slot.

Er, meant to say I hope everyone in this profession doesn't get associated with Jedi-Wannabes.

no it won't...being trained in using a sword is totally different than being trained with a lightsaber...there is no weight to the blade of a lightsaber which makes the weapon especially difficult to wield effectively.

besides...a FS character would only become a jedi right? (or die) why would you take training in swords? you probably can't...a FS character can probably only become a jedi...probably can't take other professions. What would be the point?

It doesn't matter if you can use the lightsaber. It just matters if you can equip it. I can't use a gaffi stick, but I still like to carry one around when I'm wearing all my Tusken gear.
