so, I am picking swordsman back up had a question
how many of you hunt with an acklay hammer? I am talking about the typical janta/mokk type thing, not big game.
would you
A) buy a crate of hammers and take the best damage sliced ones?
B) just use one of your not-as-good-as-your-uber hammer acklay ones?
C) use a decent scythe
just wondering, I am an armorsmith so I have the cash to go any of those routes, I have a stack of acklay bones too that I am going to get made into more hammers
I have some nice acklay hammers that are 800, 900, 996 and 1k max damage, but don't want to use them on little stuff, so just wondering what you all would suggest
a 600-700 max damage hammer isnt too expensive, but a crate of hammers would be much cheaper

Lessee..I save the acklay PH for PvP, but I use a 637 max damage (damage sliced) for regular everyday hunting, or if the need arises, my scythe.

For PvE Dant Mok/Janta missions, I use a dmg sliced regular PowerHammer from my favorite Weaponsmith. They run me 9-12k, and have a max of 577-589. It honestly doesn't make a difference if you would use an ackley hammer, because as quick as a speedcapped Swordsman can mow everything down using area attack is fast as it is.
Just buy a crate of powersliced hammers to grind with. I save my ackley for krayts, NS Elders, and things like that.

I use acklay hammers for everything these days, unless I need kin damage, then one of my not so great scythes. I pretty much use a scythe exclusively for PvP, just because I've got a couple with just under 300 max dmg. For everyday killing I think my hammers are around 700 max dmg, and I've got some with higher dmg that I use when I'm competeing for loot on higher lvl stuff, or when I need to make a fast kill. It seems to me that Acklay hammers don't hit as hard in PvP (unless you're fighting someone without melee mitigation, which is pretty rare) as scythes with high min dmg. I've come to realize, though, that I can turn out dmg sliced acklay hammers a LOT faster than I can break them, but I don't really do any janta/mokk hunting anymore. Pretty much just the high lvl stuff and the minor things that get in your way going after krayts/elders/nyax/ackaly.

Also, Whats the best mob to hunt to try and get great AA, CA loots? And whats better for possible Legendary/exceptional loots? Thanks alot for any info..

Beginning: 2-handed curved sword (speed or damage sliced)
Middle: 2-handed curved sword or scythe
End: Power Hammer or scythe
And don't drop the defense trees from fencer, they give excellent state defenses, which swordman tend to lack.
CA's and AA's wise, Aakuans tend to drop them most frequently, but you can get them from just about anything that is an NPC. As for Legendary/Exceptional loots, you need to go after high end mobs (Nightsisters, SMC, Dark Jedi, etc, etc.), but the drop rates are exceedingly low on that kind of stuff, so don't go out of your way just to get them.
