Thread: Sith Swords

I was thinking with the Jedi revamp and the possibility of making normal characters a little force sensitive wouldn't it be cool to have some Jedi artifacts that non Jedi could use. Ancient Jedi artifacts almost seem to be the magic items of Star Wars and one stands out as being obviously suitable for heavy swordsmen the Sith Swords.



I'm not a Star Wars geek so I might be lacking in knowleadge with this suggestion but they are meant to be 5000 years old but indestructible and strong enough to block light sabres(W00T no decay :smileyhappy



Obviously they would be rare and pretty hard to get hold of. Perhaps it could involve doing quests at Jedi temples and also for the nightsisters as its said the weapons were imbued with sourcery.




Anyway they sound pretty cool and at least they are a sword and have the added bonus of already being part of Star Wars mythos and with the upcoming Jedi revamp it might be good to try and get in on the act and ask if normal professions could get some Jedi artifacts.

it sounds like a cool idea, but i think that the next weapon we should get is just a Vibro Sword, make it say.....170-300(or like 250) on avg with AP3...they are all over the place in Starwars and in EU so why not in SWG?


have like the range mods be +13 to all ranges

but have high HAM costs so we dont always use it (just to make it fair)

AP3 is Armor Piercing 3 or in simple terms its HEAVY armor piercing. So what would happen is in PvP we would slice or bludgeon thru most everything out there. In PvP the fool laughing in his 90% Kinetic Comp armor would be crying 3mins into the fight as you DBed him. It has the potential to be the swordsmans Stun damage. Hence we will never get it since they wouldnt want us to be all powerful.

all powerful? Swordsman is the rifleman of the melee style and what really makes no since is the Riflemen getting T21's with armour pieacring 3 AND a stun weapon =(

it would be great to see somthing like sith swords put in to game.... its a great idea

Thanks I'm glad this idea was appreciated I have some idea's about making it into a quest that I will post later.

Actually, there are already Sith swords in game......They're called lightsabers..


Maybe its me, and trust me, I want a new sword just as much as the next guy, but a Sith...is a exactly that...a Sith..a Dark Jedi Master..complete with all the force powers in the book....Why would they ever use a metal sword when they could use the good ol' saber! Plus, as I've seen recently, a well put together template and Powerhammer can hold up against a Jedi anyway...which makes no sense..but hey, I'm not a Dev..

Thats a good point, but lets look at that crazy sword in the end of Jedi Academy...it was steel but then the user charges it with force lightning, very cool.


Also, you never see a lightsaber on the Emperor, ever. but he (and Yoda) both have wooden canes. What does this mean?
Do they know how to charge that up with some sort of pure forcce to be able to fight with it?
Just a thought for today...

my memoroy might be playing tricks on me here, but as i remember from KOTOR and EU sources the "original" sith existed before the lightsaber was in use, and used swords, to fight so did the jedi before the lightsaber came into use, still after the lightsaber became the "official" weapon of hte jedi, the sith used swords with blades of cortosis weave which is the only material able to withstand a lightsabers blade.

I like it, but it'll be confusing since we already have the scythe. I'm sure in game not too many will notice, but scythe and sith are homonyms. I guess it wouldn't matter if the sith sword is always referred to as a sith sword, because noone calls the scythe a scythe sword.

hehe I don't know what I just said.

Something tells me you didn't read all my post . Sith swords are just that real swordsmadeof metalthat the Sith used they still used them even when real lightsabres existed they were indestructible blades that could even block a lightsabre.

Theres some fan art of what they look like but the beauty of Sith Swords is they exist in Star Wars in various stories and comics so we wouldn't be asking for something that didn't exist. They aren't exactly around in this time frame but being that they are indestructible theres no reason why they couldn't be found. Plenty of stories in Star Wars are about finding ancient artifacts from the glory days of Jedi and Sith. Its a sword if anyone should get to use it then it should be us
