Thread: Master SwordMan's Weapon Cert Idea...

Well since everyone knows that in one of the up coming publishes every profession is going to get a master weapon Cert.


So i was wondering that for this master weapon cert that the Master Swordmen of the game should decide what our weapon looks like. and maybe hey give ideas about what stats it should have and what damage type it should be.


I mean we are the Swordmen and we know what type of sword would be perfect for our mastery lvl cert. and of course it has to be a Sword since people would complain about having an axe or a hammer in the master lvl cert instea of a sword.


I mean we could have people with artistic abilities draw out a few concept art and post them. then everyone that reads the fourms could choose the design they like best to see put into the game.


then we decide on what stats it would have and and someone like the devs or our correspondent pick the best 4 or something that will not be game breaking weapon. then vote on which stats we think would be best.


i feel that this way we could have less people complaining about a weapon because it is not what we want on a whole.


So we would create the weapon and have it what we wanted adn would use instead of a usless weapon that is put into a game that we would never use because it would be horrible and useless to use it.


just think it would be the best way we could decide what type of weapon we get.

I Think it be sweet to have a Sword kinda like Zabua's from Naruto (same thing as that guys from kenshin)
We are heavy swordsman so lets get a heavy sword!

If not that Two swords would be kewl, or a duel bladed sword even.

as for damage, no more kinetic. blast would be kewl, ummmm... idk what else we could have really.
stun mabey but then wede just be over run with even more powergamers

I want one of these. Make it a vibro, give it some damage other than kinetic/blast, keep it AP2 with a lower but tighter damage range. Yummy.

I think a dual bladed sword, kind of like a saber, but with blades would rock. It would need some exceptional statistics however, to beat the stats on a Scythe.

Yeah that sword looks ACE! Really fits in with the whole Star Wars universe. Remember that scene in RotJ when William Wallace jumps onto the AT-ST, thurstshis sword into the air and cries "You may take our lives...but you will never take our FREEDOM!!" and all the celtic Ewoks go nuts?!?!


Seriously though, lets take a look at other swords in the SW universe. In KOTOR they had two handed vibro swords that looked decent enough. Why can't we just have one of those? We could expand on the idea, say the blade is electrified and discharges with every hit. You could have like a mod on it where it deals additional electrical damage but has to be recharged by droid batteries or something. It's unique, it's different, it's another damage type, it's not over-powered (running out of batteries in PvP for example, it's risky using this type of sword but can pay off well) and it fits in with the SW universe.

Please think about it.

A two bladed sword would be a polearm, because it is a staff-like weapon. That would be pikeman, not us. And two swords? Come on, the point of a two handed swordsman is to use TWO HANDS on one sword. Not trying to just flame you guys, but these ideas have been brought up before, and they're just not logical for us. Although the idea of a vibro sword is kind of cool. As is the idea of just the fairly large two handed swords. I don't doubt SOE artists can come up with some badass swords for us. In another post, someone had a bunch of sketches posted, and one was of a krayt jawbone sword, seemed like a cool idea if it could be implemented properly.


And celtic ewoks are awesome.

O and also think about it like this, it means Artisans who have just started out have a stronger additional income from making droid batteries. See? It's the perfect weapon for a MMORPG since it takes an armoursmith to make it, an artisan to power it AND a swordsman to weild it. You can't lose!!!

Having lived in scotland for 13 years I have to say I honestly think that the Ewoks in blue war paint would not look out of place walkingdown kings street inAberdeen....

First off, it's a flamberge, not a claymore. It's German. That aside, after a lot of experience with the West End Games RPG I think I can safely say that there really aren't that many melee weapons—particularly two-handers—in the Star Wars universe. Anything we get is likely to be a new invention, so why not get something we're happy with instead of trying to find other game inventions that are no more valid?


On two-handed vibro swords: that's exactly what I was suggesting. The only point of contention we have is what the skin/mesh looks like. I'm all for the idea, and while I happen to like the looks of the flamberge, I'd be happy with just about any sword-style mesh. The one point I would bring up is that of code intensity: right now there are no unlimited-limited-use weapons, if you understand my meaning. That is to say, it would require an entirely new code set to make a weapon that runs off droid batteries, so I don't see that happening anytime soon. Although I do like the idea of powerups in general adding damage-effects like you're describing. See the earlier 'to kill riflemen…' thread for my thoughts on that.
