Hey everyone, I just got Master Swordsman for my holocron profession. I'm currently Master Smuggler/Master Pistoleer. I was thinking of keeping my Master Pistoleer and Smuggler Pistol moves, and using my bleeds and ranged mitigation to help me in the Swordsman prof. Everything I'm reading about Swordsman talks about getting good armor. Well what about wookiees? Any wookiee swordsman out there? I'm drooling over the images I can see of a big wookiee out there going to town Conan-style. Does the inability to wear armor really hurt this profession? Thanks for the replies...

im a master swordsman wookiee on flurry - have been for quite awhile now.

our biggest advantage is our hight strength which we can use to weild the powerhammer with a smaller ham cost.

this can be wonderful in pve.

if you're just doing it for holo then pve is proably all you need to worry with.

if you want to do some swordsman pvp without armor look into getting some fencer and tk to help out your swordsman skills

my character may not be a wookiee, butbeing trandoshan i have comparable strength (at 800 max). and i dont wear armor. for weapons i would suggest using the two handed axe, the curved sword will eat your action pool faster than anything. a cleaver is more moderate on the action, but still is pretty hazardous to your action. so the two haded axe would be one of the best choices for your kinetic weapon, with a good damage slice on it. and when you get to the point of novice or better use both the axe and the hammer, because they wont eat your action pool and the health costs are minimal with the strength of wookiees (i think 850 max for a wookiee). good luck and enjoy swordsman.

Hello,

Im a Wookie Master 2 Handed Swordsman, Master TKA, and Master Brawler with a touch of Fencer thrown in for good measure (Novice Scout Expl 1 & Novice Medic).

Firstly, Not having armor isn't that bad - with our high strength mod you can hit faster and longer without juicing your Health bar.

Second, armor isn't all that neccessary - with the right power hammer, katana, and war cry 2 & intimidate 2 - a Wookie can kill just about anything in the game.

Hope this helps =)

I'm a wookiee swordsman as well (on Starsider). I am currently 0433 in swordsman and Master Brawler. I'm starting to love the extra wookiee HAM, but you really need to make sure you're buffed.

Example:
Lastnight on Dathomir, we pulled some enraged Rancors and a NightSister Ranger came along to help (I think it was a ranger, had 100% to all resists except Kenetic and Blast which were 60%). Anyways, sic pet, warcry2 + Intimidate2 + Mindhit1 + Mindhit2 + Headhit rinse repeat, whatnot, you get the idea. Anyways, pet and I took them down with no problems. The melee Damage mitigation does wonders vs. NPCs and Creatures alike.

Just becareful....you might actually like being a swordsman to much to give it up.

Awesome, sounds good. Yeah I'm doing this for the holocron, never even thought of it before, but i'm having a blast already, up to level 3 in two handed in just an hour of fighting storm troopers... This is great... a lot more fun than I thought it'd be. I am really looking forward to getting higher levels so I can do PvP. Being a pistoleer/smuggler specialist i never was any good at PvP cuz no mind shots... well just looking through the skill tree for swordsman looks very promising for PvP. I can use my smuggler's knockdown and delay shots to start out, and bash their brains in with a big ole hammer while they're on the ground. Sounds great to me! lol... I think I may just hang onto Swordsman for a while, it could be a lot more fun.

I was a Wookie Swordsman 0302 and I once owned a Master Commando with minimal help from my pet. He lit me on fire, but I delayed him, layed Mind Hit 1 on him, ran to the water and put my self out, and came back and layed a couple more Head Hit 3s on him. He Flamed me again and I went down, but my pet incapped him before he could DB me (almost the same time I went down)and my incap timer ran out before his and I got to DB him. He must have felt pretty silly getting owned in a duel by a Master Bio Engineer / Swordsman 0302.

I want to try something new, and I've never gone melee. Since we have no armor, I've always figured ranged combat would be better so I'm always keeping mobs at a distance with a tank.

So anyways, is swordsman a good class for a wookiee? Can any wookiee swordsmen here share your experience?
or point me to a thread where this was discussed.

Thanks!

BTW, I'm also a master Doc so I'm always buffed and have no problems with downtime, etc.

I am a wookiee master swordsman and 3324 creature handler, and I find it difficult to find mobs that I can't solo with a good pet as company. Even when I am in a group and not using a pet, I seem to be the last one left standing, but in PVP, we blow. The lack of armor makes pvp for wookiees much more difficult, but being a doc, you should be able buff yourself and do a pretty good job at taking damage and swordsman can deal a lot of damage when comes right down to it.

That's not just Wookies. Swordsmen in general suck in PvP.

I am a Wookiee Master Swordsman at the moment, and I've also mastered Pikeman (yes, I am insane), and TKM (yeah, they get everything, we get 7 posture change moves ).. anyway, most of the Swordsman moves are sh*tty, and exact duplicates of each other.. we have a sweep line, which changes posture.. an area attack line, which changes posture.. and some other line, which changes posture. There was absolutely no thought that went into the specials, so I don't have most of them on my toolbar, except for area 3, hit 3, bleed, and mind 3.. those are the only ones worth using, and even now the bleeds don't do jack. I routinely kill Tusken Warlords before the first freakin tick of bleed even goes through.. waste. Also, I'm a Master Brawler, so once they make warcry worthless (publish 7), a wookiee melee class will become suicidal.. As far as raw damage Swordsman is the way to go.
