Thread: What is your PvP strategy?

I am creating a PvP template. Master Heavy Swordsman and Master Rifleman. I have not tried Swordsman in PvP yet. Just bought a damage sliced Powerhammer, lol, and still do not own a Scythe. My question is, what attacks do you use in PvP and in what situations.

Hmm, my pvp strategy, i wouldnt call me lying dead on my back exactly a strategy. It's more like a comic relief.

To be honest, i've only went pvp a couple of times.

i just need more practice any advice?

I am a master swordsman/rifleman and i love it for pvp. You can pretty much pick and choose how to kill, i usually start off with my rifle and they either die by head shot or they'll rush me with (usually) tkm, at that point i switch to my blade and finish their mind off. Also get a good selection of weapons that do bleeds or better yet mind disease. I dunno about everyone else but it is very good for pvp.

my template is

Master swordsman/Master rifleman/TKA 4/0/0/4/novice medic

As just master swordsman I took out a few TKM/Fencer/just about any other melee class out there, and a commando/smuggler/pistoleer. Fight smart. Use your COB, intimidate all day long, eat food, use your 2hlunge and posture attack moves when needed. Havent gotten into it with anyone else yet in PvP since Im nuetral. My guild is at war though so Ive had a chance to take on a few people, it's funny how many people really dont know how to utilize basic brawler specials. Intimidate, COB, and Lunge are life savers.

I would suggest using flushing shot and flurry shot with your rifle against any melee prof. Then when they get in range, the person will be stunned and dizzied, from there hit intimidate then lunge 1 for the posture change and they should be flopping like a fish in no time. From there just crush their mind with a nice big powerhammer.

That's what I would do anyway

Since I will be master rifleman and swordsman I will also get atleast 4004 in TKA. I could go 4404 and get some extra defenses, but they aren't much. Should I go novice medic instead? If I get 4004 TKA and novice medic I will have enough points to get atleast 1 box, which one should I get?

If you value winning above any code of honor, the best approach would be to kite the best you can with the rifle while spamming headshot, and then when it looks like you're gonna have to pull out the hammer, give em a Flurry shot before switching weapons. Now i'd go to the 2-handed axe (seems to have the best accuracy, and decent speed) and lunge at them to try to get them down. Once, or if, you get them down, look and see how close they are to incapping, as well as how close you are. If you are about to win, simply spam the head hit a few times with the ole hammer to finish it. If not, then use mindhit2 to get the best bleed you can (since they are down). Now re-equip your rifle and continue to kite.

oops, sorry that's only for melee fighters. Hehe. For ranged fights, You can probably outpower your opponent unless they too are a rifleman (or cm). If they aren't, you can probably just spam headshot till you win, but if they are rifleman, try to dizzy them andrun for a near building and clear your combat box and run behind the building. Now they have to come to you, and you have a big nasty hammer waiting on them as they round the corner.

well, if your going master swordsman/master rifleman, then what are you worrying about, hehe, ur a rifleman!!

but if you actually want to use your swordsman abilities in pvp, then i got some tips for ya.

  • 95% of pvp occurs in cities, thus around buildings, and buildings are your friends. If your opponent is ranged and you cant seem to get in range by weaving through a city, then make a run for a building. Run inside, and prep your self. you have to make the decision on wether or not you think theyll come in or if you think they are smart and ull just have to jump out at the moment they are closest. dont wear ur badass mhs title, use some like apprentice 2-handed whatever. get my point, itll put a little reassurence in the heads of the enemies who dont know you, thus making them more prone to make stupid decisions.

  • lunge 1 or 2 are very very much your friends. when combined with surprise tactics, they are most effective. they arent only useful for closing space and putting some major dmg on someone, but also for finishing. if your opponents ham is low but you dont think you can make it within range to tag that last head hit 3 on him, go ahead and spam a few lunges. chances are youll get him.

  • use intimidate. when you trying to close distance its a great move to use. keep sure it lands though, if it doesnt make sure to try it a few more times.

  • if ur not rich (me), pick up the meditation line (and while ur at it the precision striking line) from teras kasi. its like having a doc in ur back pocket! sure, power boostnot nearly as good as a docs buff, but it still helps. if ur going solo against cms there is nothing more useful except a real doc tagging along beside you. very good use of skill points.

  • if you cant count on a doc to be beside you all the time so you can get buffs whenever wherever, then ya better make good friends with a good chef. pack up any type of food you enjoy.

  • know you enemy- the more you pvp, the mor you will know you enemies. the pvp community isnt that large, and youll quickly grow accustomed to it. youll know whos what and who likes to fight what way. very helpful and very key in your success.

well, thats it. enjoy your "pvp template"!
