This is such an ugly weapon, and the whole reason I went to sword is to use the curved. Do any of you use the curved all the way to master or do you eventually have to switch to the pwr hmmr?

You can use whatever you want. But good luck hitting AT-STs with the curved sword.

i personally never used a sword, unless i came across something with kinetic resists, and i used a curved sword for that, but i killed myself in a matter of moments when using specials, so i got a cleaver, which was easier on the action, then i found the weapon that suits my character, the two handed axe is almost the same as a cleaver, and it has low action and mind costs, and a higher health cost, which is perfect for a trandoshan. and thus i now use the hammer and the axe.

if i was a spcies with better action substats i would definately use the curved sword though.

powerhammers are the greatest weapon in teh entire world i tell ya. they are so great at master level. i hit for tons of damage at less a ham drain then the curved as well.

i mean really i am a master brawler and MHS and i can take down a atst easily with warcry 2 headhit 3 and have a doc buff me and him heal me just in case war cry doesn't stick right away.its great fun when i get it to work. hehe so muh fun. took out 3 ast at an imp outpost today doing this.

oh yeah frorgot i also use owerboost with meditation it's ust awsome

i find a power hammer very good to use in PVE cuz of high dmg but i would rather have a swords that does that

The PH does more damage by far. That makes it good for bleeds. The idea being, whack them for two bleeds with the powerhammer, then switch to the curved sword for the headhits. I like that strategy and use it, but I will often just stay with the PH if things are going well. The PH has higher health costs, but if I can take them down in less time with the PH, it makes it worth while. I will also often use the PH for area attacks. I think the extra costs associated with the PH are mitigated by doing more damage to more creatures at once.

Then you have to consider that the PH has blast damage, while the Sword and Cleaver have kinetic. No matter what the HAM cost differences are, if it has 100% resists to Kinetic and is vulnerable to Blast, you are better off with the PH. The reverse, of course is true for the Sword or Cleaver if the resists favor them.

i'm a master brawler, master swordsman, and i use both. I tend to prefer the curved sword due to slightly lower ham cost, but i alternate no-the-less. what i do is watch my own hams and see which one is going down faster, then use the weapon that uses the other pool. This keeps my hams nice and balanced for when i heal myself, and seems to make battles a lot easier as i hit more before i have to heal.

2 hand curves are far inferior to cleavers.

in all respects imo.

hopefully they will add more powerful curves in the future

Disagree with huan. I had my guild's weaponsmith make the best possible Cleaver and Curved sword, and the curved sword turned out with greater speed, higher DPS overall, and a lower HAM cost overall.

Can't agree with the cleaver thing. Every 2-hand curved sword I've seen has better DPS and lower HAM costs. I almost never see a Swordsman use cleavers because of this.
