I found this little calculation posted by Sancitfier on another thread. You can use it to find the DPS your weapon provides.
For pure dps enjoyment, I go with this formula:
(min damage + max damage) / 2
-------------------------------------------
weapon speed
I use this formula without powerups and find most scythes are between 110 - 120. The nice ones start at about 130dps and up. Mine is 132.5 I beleive.
With a 2.0, 200-403 Scythe, I do 150.75 DPS. What do you do?

Thanks for that link, Kreell, that's really useful. I especially like the part where it tells you how much more 2h speed you need to cap out, very good for saving money instead of buying all those extra attachments!

Yeah, I got it from some other thread about 3 or 4 weeks ago. It's an extremely useful tool for any swordsman.

I got 4557 using my Doom Hammer and +94 TwoHanded Melee Speed.

This fails to take into account your 2 Handed Melee Speed. If you want to know all this info, go to this link and plug in all the required information: http://www.ukwm.com/swg/swordsman.php?min=1643&max=5669&speedmod=87&wspeed=2.2&sort=dps
That webpage takes into account your speed mod and gives you the DPS for all of the different specials.
For example:Using the Scythe that you mentioned (2.0, 200-403) A Msster Swordsman would do 1570 DPS using Head Hit 3. A Master Swordsman with Master Brawler (+5 more speed) would do 1726 DPs using Head Hit 3. And I (with my +4 speed skill tape) would do 2157 DPS with Head Hit 3. So, with just a change in of 9 on you speed mod, you can get a massive swing in DPS (in this case almost 600).

Your formula leaves out an important variable. Your weapon speed skill. The site above does not and reflects your actual dps

it's been posted actually. his name is lurax on the board here. i did a search for posts by user Lurax using the search word "exceptional" in the swordsman forum and it brought up a post that has link to a pic in it. you've probably seen it actually. its 1.1 spd and max dmg is around 3100, 3180 or something like that (can't check cuz im at work right now).
